I'm thinking of buying it but haven't the foggiest notion of what it's like. I can't seem to find decent info on it anywhere. Does anyone know if it's any good?

I played the game years ago and remember it being pretty damn hard. It doesn't play like a standard vertical or horizontal shooter, more like Bangai-O really. You constantly need to fight gravity off with your rocket thrust, while both staying away from walls and enemies. It's all really vague right now, although I remember enjoying it. You could always try it through emulation, wich I'm off to do right now.
edit:
Okay I just found a ROM and played the first two levels. Ontop of what I said earlier there's also a fuel element, and if you run out you fall to your death. It seems your goal is to rescue little people. On the second level there was this strange mutant head thing, wich showcased the game's nice graphics. The art style really ain't my bag, but technically it's impressive, and the music ain't bad either. Also, Zyrinx developed the thing, they also made Scorcher for the SS.
Ever played the old Atari classic Gravitar?
If so you know the challenge SubTerrania will present.
It's a multiscrolling shooter, in which you are constantly battling the forces of gravity.
IMO Sub is a damn cool game, although it is very very difficult.
This game is VERY difficult, be forewarned.
A challenge! Me like!
It plays like Bangai-O, eh? That's sounds interesting enough. How are the gameplay and graphics?
Looks good. I can get a sealed copy for $5. I think I will!
I've just seen the first two levels and from that, had my fill. The fuel, the gravity, the weak weapons... all equate to not fun.
A password feature would've made the game perfect.
Indeed. The game is a toughie.Quote:
