Yeah their RPG's have been the same trend for far too long now and I don't see as much in the line of good action games unless it's based off from what DMC started.
We can add Koria as well for their endless monster-generator MMORPG's since they can't grasp the concept correctly.

I think western developers borrowed and learned from Japanese developers all those years when Japan was ahead.
I have to disagree with this. Western development never sucked(people tend to focus too much on console gaming and forget the old computer and arcade Western classics). Modern Western gaming isn't just a case of learning from Japan. Influence has always gone both ways. Japan still makes a lot of innovative and quality games too.Quote:
Japan used to be the hot spot for advanced videogame development -- it's where the West initially learned their tricks of the trade. There's no reason not to swap roles, he says.
I like Japanese games that are actually games. I dislike the current trend in Japan which sees Wii Sports and mini-game collections vastly outselling Twilight Princess; Brain Training and Nintendogs vastly outselling Metal Gear Solid's, Yakuza's, Blue Dragon's, Lost Planet's, and even Final Fantasy's. I could make a stupid joke about Japan needing a "Common Sense Training," but they actually have one.
And they all bought it.
I <3 Capcom. Please continue to champion video games that actually require you to play a video game.
Andy brings up a good point, Japan seems even crazier now because their general taste in games has completely shifted to this mini-game like love fest. That lets Nintendo print money but it just makes me scratch my head.
Japan has always had weird taste in games, and it just seems to be getting weirder, even shitty. Western games are increasingly better, and like I've said before, everyone realizes this but Japan.
Hah, Capcom's calling the industry stale.
They're on a new IP roll for the 360. Capcom does good things.
