What happened to Dollywood as the meeting place?
I think if you're serious about this, Dallas, Houston, or Austin would be more realistic for more people than Tennessee. Personally I would recommend Austin due to the nightlife.
Dollywood is pretty much a part of Gatlinburg (technically it's in a town called Pigeon Forge, but the two places are pretty much synonymous for most visitors/tourists).Quote:

The NYC get-together still has its problems, but the few things we figured out is this. Set a meeting place and a date/time. Someone has to step up and be the leader. Mezz is the guy that gets the meeting place and the appropriate time, until this happens usually a thread like this will look like a mess.
Yeah, I definitely can see that happening. We need to figure out which weekend works before we get into the details though. I'm going, and I believe Vasteel is coming with me. Worst case, we go redneck hunting by ourselves. This is the hotel I recommend:

It has high speed internet and a pool, and it's right next to a Cracker Barrel. I'm also not staying anywhere I don't get Marriott points.
Cracker Barrel is a nice eatry. But it seems the more they spread out the new ones are actually worse.
