He wasn't banned for using homophobic language. He was banned for using homophobic language after having already broken the rules of conduct twice.

Believe me, there has been plenty of discussion as to revamping or outright dumping the infraction system, and I've generally been on the side of dumping them in those discussions; but as it stands, there are a perfectly reasonable set of rules, and they will be enforced.

It isn't longer than 24 hours. And moreover, this is another point that has been discussed at length regarding the infraction system. What is the purpose of a 24 hour ban? Does it really serve any kind of purpose?

I was going to make a meaningful post, but chose not to because there is no point now.

And this is why TNL is more entertaining than all the other boards out there. God bless TNL.

I'm late to the party, and I see this thread has degenerated but I'm still going to make a serious post.

I've been here since the GameGo exodus, so however many years ago that was. I've taken some breaks from TNL just because there were some times when I just didn't have the time to waste on the internet. Now I use TNL to alleiviate the boredom of work.

Personally I like the abrasive TNL. It leads to much more enjoyable reading. I don't like the new infraction system letting people with sand in their vagina's report every little thing that bothers them. I'm not sure of a solution though. Maybe the person who reports shit shouldn't be able to do it anonymously? And the infraction system seems pretty much worthless.

Also to note Andy's post. 24 hour bans seem pretty much worthless IMO, it's definitely not a significant amount of time.

I don't know if any of you remember, but fag was banned originally because not only could it be offensive, but it was being used rampantly by everyone. If its allowed again, you would all say it too much again.
