I don't know how it doesn't get to me. I guess I feel that whatever is not relavent to my interests gets mentally filtered. This way I don't care if someone is a Xbox fanboi or Nintendo, Ngage or whatever. If I have something of relavense to say, I say it. I honestly rarely ever care if someone posts something condescending or whatever. You know why? Cause there are too many fools in the world for me to walk around and tell them to stfu. I think for that reason, I enjoy this place constantly. I feel that even if I didn't have these rose colored glasses on, then I would find TNL to be one of the more mature and informed populations on the internet. Its had a good pedigree. I don't believe that I had a Game GO account, but I know that I bought the magazine, and at least lurked the board when I found it. TNL came from a base that actually played videogames and played them frequently to get better at them or enjoy them to the fullest. I believe that those people are obviously still here. We may disagree from time to time, but I think that I will keep posting here till my hands are too arthritic to write. Then I will build some cyber arms and keep on posting.

Gaming discussion used to be a wealth of information, but I don't see much there anymore. I agree with Stibbons that it seems that the majority of us have just moved on. I skip most of the threads now, only reading the really great games (Gears of War).
Shit, I laugh at a lot of stuff here though, and it is good to get all the news I need at one place.
How many newbies have actually stayed and become regular members in the last year?
I've been here since 2004, and this is my main board because most of you know and can type in some form of proper english, this coming from a guy whos last board was the gamefaqs board. That and it's a good place to get current news with debates from both sides of the fence, which is good for a laugh every now and then. I may not post too often, but I read just about everything in Game Discussion, Sound Off, and S&B.
Most of you are hardcore gamers, yet you still live a "normal" lifestyle. Gaming is probably a side hobby for a lot of you, and if I were to meet some of you and judge by looks I'd probably think there was no way you knew anything about games. And it's nice playing with you guys online every now and then, like when Cow rocks me in fighting games.
The trolling can get on my nerves a little, but in the end I could care less. At least these trolls stay on topic somewhat compared to past boards I've been on.
The board has been moving a little slow lately, but that's just fine with me, since it gives me a little more time to look in to the other boards I've been missing out on all these years, like cinema, art and music.
