Sup guys, this time I figured that I'd take a whack on my theory on how the SF universe's characters should evolve if they ever decide to actually do something original(lol). No more cel shaded crap, no more happy go lucky let's fight Bison and save the world...something more dramatic, something more REAL.

Ok, first off. The world is more peacefull. But the characters are not. Gill is dead. Bison has been long thrown off of his throne of retardation and "psycho power"(which is THE most gay idea ever besides the "orochi storyline" in KoF). There has been a huge gap in time, and alot of the characters have aged(or died off). Whether or not you like this idea of mine; is up to you.


Ryu:

Aged, no longer sporting the top of his gi, and a beard grown to reflect the teachings and appreciation for his master Gouken, Ryu has abandoned the power of the "hadoken" after his rage from his "evil" powers encased his soul and he destroyed Gill unmercifully(even while Gill was begging for release, Ryu struck him down over and over). He is now the hermit. Stays alone, practices in a hill side just a blink away from his original training grounds, and constantly asks himself "How could I let myself become that way? I will train alone so that I hurt NO one ever again, and fully learn how to contain my powers". Not even his close friend Ken has seen him in many years.

Sagat:

Now completely blind in both eyes(ironically, thanks to Dan). Sagat has forged his way to the foreground as the new "hero" of the series. Trained for several years with countless masters to utilize his style of Muay Thai as a blind man, and also learned how to control his lust for revenge against Ryu for beating him so many MANY years ago. He does everything in his power to try and find Ryu and help him with his troubles as he knows that one day, when both are very old...they will fight for the last time, to find who is the real Street Fighter champion.

Zangief:

Somewhere in Russia, a man covered in scars yearns for blood. This man is not the Zangief you knew and loved as the commedical big russian brawler. He has killed someone very important to the series after the last SF, and has gone insane with guilt. Insane to the point where it overcame him and now he quests for battles to the death. Not only to fufill his need for blood and carnage, but also to finally get a release from his hell. The hell that has consumed him has only made him stronger, and he seems to be an unstoppable killing machine, awaiting the final day when someone ends his flame and brings peace to his soul.

Guile:

Finally happy with the death of the one man that took away his best friend. Guile is content with life, his family, his dog, hell...even his army buddies started to think he's gone soft. Until one day...
See, he trained his daughter Amy to be the best american fighter she could be. He never expected her to become the BEST woman fighter of her age. She so yearned for combat with better fighters; that he saw a little bit of his old acquaintance Ryu in her. A tournament in Russia was held a few years ago, and he gave her his blessing to enter. She fought to the best of her ability and won the tourney with the crowd in her favor. After the fight, as she went to her hotel room(a block down the road from the arena where the tourney was held)...a man stepped out from the shadows, covered in blood and scars. He challenged her to a match, in the street, in the snow, under the barely lit street lamps. She promptly refused, and as she walked off, tragedy struck. The next day the man was nowhere to be found, but the newspapers said it loudly enough.

-AMERICAN FEMALE WOLRD CHAMPION AMY GUILE KILLED IN COMBAT BY KNOWN AND FEARED LEGEND ZANGIEF-

After Guile got the news, a spark overtook his soul. One of revenge and torment(the same as when Charlie died so long, long ago). Now is the time for the master American fighter to exact revenge to it's fullest, no mercy, no second thoughts, just death. The death of a man known as Zangief.

Gouki:

A hole in a mountain outside of Brazil bleeds. The blood of the most horrific fighter in the world lays dormant, awaiting his time. The demi-god bastard Gouki. Sitting there focusing his chi and basking in the glory of the death of M.Bison and the utter demise of Ryu's fighting spirit. He no longer wears the traditional gi of his master and brother(Goutetsu and Gouken), he now has fully adopted the cloth of his demon heritage. A dark black(with red trim)gi bottom. Shirtless and bloodied, as the insignia on his back bleeds the immortal wounds of a demon. Gouki sits in wait. Not for the most powerful fighter to confront him, but for the day that his power rages great enough that he will walk down from his mountain, find every champion fighter, and kill them. One. By. One.

Sakura:

A young woman, around the age of 26 or so, has feverishly been training ever since the dissapearance of Ryu. She has long adopted his style and his fever for finding the best, but no matter how hard she studies, her skills lack finality that she would gain under the proper tutelage. She wants to understand the meaning of the word "fight" and is longing for a formal confrontation with the man that she so admires...no matter what the cost.

Dan:

After finally avenging the death of his father by taking Sagat's vision, Dan meditates for several years. One day a man comes beckoning on his door. That man is the former SF champion himself and Dan immediately takes up a new found respect for him as Sagat has changed his ways and gained a final sense of balance. Even though he will never say it out loud, he considers the old Thai boxer a father figure, as Sagat has gained much wisdom during his newfound studies. They both train extremely hard with their new found skills, and vow to one day test them against the ultimate fighter that can never be found. Ryu.

i'm workin on getting some sketches to go along with this article...and i got ryu lookin fuckin raw. freaked me out when i sketched this up. works REAL good for the storyline.

Unfortunately, Capcom would never go that far with their SF characters. Most of them have become institutions onto themselves and hence would be very difficult to change to such a large degree...

This is an interesting idea. But it needs some new/young blood to fill out the roster. Also, it'd be nice to have some characters from the SF3 games.

oh, and the reason this post is here is for you guys to help out and give me ideas on chars taht i should work with or ideas for new characters. this is all i got done in about an hour or so. so i would really appreciate some ideas on here n stuff.

Sean - I see him having a big ol crush on Sakura. So much so that the reason he continues to fight, even after Ken retires, is to meet up with her. Think Kensou/Athena, but Shotokan stylings =p

Ibuki - After finishing high school and being in college, she makes money on the side by being a personal bodyguard ninja badass. Then one day a mysterious offer comes to her: find and kill Gouki. Unsure of whether or not she can best the demon, but hard pressed to refuse (either because the money is good or because someone she loves will be in danger if she refuses).

Mel - Why not? I would only think that after so much training with his father and a fair deal of 'normal' tournaments, Mel would be ready for a real challenge. He should be young too, depending on how much everyone else ages at, I'd say 12-15 years old. Even make some moves that take advantage of his small stature. Or maybe a super that calls out Ken to do damage, since even if Ken doesn't fight anymore, I'm sure he would go crazy on anyone who hurts his kid.

If you haven't seen it, might I offer my picture of an older Sakura I did a long time ago. Your story ideas are really good, they make me want to create some sketches of them myself (I began thinking about them as I was reading, inspirational stuff to my creative side). Drop me a line or messenger service in some form, I wouldn't working with you on this if you want.

wow, that looks like a great Sakura, Mech. I've done a few older Sakuras before, but I had her adopt a Blue Mary/Ryu crossbred look.

I just wish I had known what I was doing when it came to picture resizing back when I made that, it would've looked a lot better without those jagged lines. I've gotten better, though I'm not sure if I have the ability to redo just the lines to that pic and have it come out right. Blah.

I dig it. Though I think its too much of a downer for the series.

I too would like to see some young blood.

How about as Ryu gets old he takes a single pupil and trains him or her before passing away. (Still a downer, but it continues the series)

Ryu could be a hidden character (He didn't pass away after all)

I have a good idea for a new character:

A Brazillian Ju Jitsu champion (the grappler of the game) who does armbars/triangle chokes/guilloteen chokes and various other throws/holds but is also good on his feet. Think Ultimate Fighting Championships. He would be in a Gi with great patches/designs on it.

He could be fighting to prove to the world that the style his family invented is the best. (he's a new character, what do you want from me?)

The story needs work, but I'm getting tired of wrestling style throws, I need someone like a BJJ Master.

PS: BJJ Master. Sweet.

PPS: Just call him Master. :)

And how about a character with no legs that practices Kendo? I saw a documentary where there was this man who trained in Kendo without legs and he was Damn good. Just a weird thought.

Also how about a new sumo wrestler. Related to Edmond Honda maybe?

One last one, then I'm done. A character who is transgendered. Maybe a man, maybe a woman. Maybe the character switches between the two. Maybe the person is crazy, maybe fighting for "equal rights". I got the idea from chick in Final Fight who they later said was a guy.

Sorry my ideas suck dude, maybe you can do something with them.

well, more Kensou on Sean's part. I don't think Sakura would shrug him off, but instead be too naive or dedicated to training to notice. Heck, their ending could result in a cute first date or something.

Blanka: Years of fighting and living like an animal in the jungles have turned him into a fearsome beast. A mindless killer, he is controlled by someone in the shadows...
Vega: With Bison's rule overthrown, he is now living as an assasin for hire. His face beaten to a pulp by Zangief, he now goes about without a mask, using his hideous face to shock opponents.
Chun-Li: With the help of Guile, she headed up the overthrowing of Bison's rule. She remained with the police, and kept herself in training. However, she has caught wind of Guile's quest for vengeance, and has set off to prevent her old ally from going too far.
Ken: Always the happy go lucky rich guy, his life has turned for the worst. Eliza has left him, and took Mel. He has lost his riches, and it has almost broken him. With a good part of his life behind him, he has forgone living a safe life and dedicated himself to the fight, and to finding Ryu.
Balrog: Not being on Bison's payroll has hurt him. He went back to the ring, but nobody has stood up to him for more than 10 seconds. So he awaits the next Street Fighting tournament.
Dee Jay: Seeing his music career dwindle in the light of the new gangster music that is all the rave in Jamaica, and seeing his beloved island wracked with killings has greatly hurt him. The media sees Jamaica as ruined, with no future and no hope in sight. He is now training to prove to his people that you can rise above, he sets his sights on winning and spreading his posivite message music.
Cammy: No longer under Bison's control, she now fights to find her past.
Fei Long: Special effects filled movies has lead a whole generation to admire pasty white dudes who can't fight one damn that destroy hordes of cg opponents. This has lead to show off tournements with fakes doing silly poses with stage tricks to wow audiences. Fei, while not caring for the movie industry, has seen a disturbing trend in his young pupils for admiring these fakes. He has a thing or two to teach this new generation: To win, one must fight with spirit.
Dhalsim: A spiritual man, he has never had qualms with finding tranquility in the fight. He remains the same, and awaits more chances to fight.
Mayor Mike Haggar: "C'mon, let me fight this time!"
I thought these up real quick, do with them whatever you want.

Damn is it hard to come up with new characters. You try it and see, this is the best I could do after some thought.
San- There should be some goody earth godess teenage girl cliche. I say just rip San from Princess Mononoke, that way at least she will be viscious.
Bishnen- A regular japanese business man with a good build. He wears formal business man attire, but without shoes. He fights to releive bordom.
Armless guy- Balrog uses no kicks, how about someone who uses only kicks? His upper jabs would be funny, I don't know if anyone could kick super fast to anyones chest or face.
rapper- Snk's take on a black basketball player is creepy, I wonder what Capcom's take on an american mc would be.
Chick from canada- has any fighter included a woman from canada?

I would love to see a character who is part of some sort of Shadaloo remnant. You know, after Bison bites the big one, that doesn't mean there wouldn't be plans to continue on his operations or to somehow revive him (or *gasp* inject Bison's 'essence' into another person - seeing as how SFA3 hinted that Bison could inhabit other people).

Yep, for those who remember my old SFIV fan ideas, one of them was a Juni/Juli clone injected with Bison's essence. Essentially, a new version of Bison (maybe part Bison moves/part Juli moves) that was not the main badguy.

That would go to Dark Alex.

My take...

Ryu- Has a child with Hokuto of SFEX named Shin, but mysteriously disappears while Shin is still young, leaving behind his trademark red bandanna. Shin travels the world searching for him, not realizing his papa is struggling with the evil power trying to consume him...

Ken- Older, but still egocentric as ever(a quality definitely passed down to his son Mel). During a karate tournament that Mel participates in, he notices one of the new contestants looks very familiar. After seeing the red bandanna, he immediately finds interest in Shin, taking him in(since Shin has nowhere to stay). Shin and Mel train together and become friends, and Ken agrees to help Shin track down his dad(since his dad is Ken's best friend, after all).

Damn Hero, you got some skillz there! Heh, much more refined then I am (though I've fallen out of drawing for the last four years, hence my degredation). We should so start busting out with all sorts of art for this, help me get back in a groove...

Alright, started up a Sagat, almost done (debating whether to have his eyes exposed or covered by a strip of cloth), and will work on some more tomorrow. Maybe I'll even come up with something new for Oro (I love him, he needs to return).

i don't care about the other characters (although i really like your ideas, mrwhitefolks), as long as ryu remains/becomes the most badass fighter and lays the smackdown on anyone (even gouki and oro); ken remains/becomes a badass second only to ryu; and guile to make a comeback as the badass is once was.

i just figured out how to make zangief look insane.

take away the mohawk(it's trendy gay lookin) and the mustache part of the beard...add some scars on his face(across the nose, the skull, and on the cheekbones) and he's a fuckin glorified psychotic.

if only i had a god damn scanner.

Cool, but unfortunately way too dark for a Japanese fighting game. Here's the real character summary/plot for SF4:

Every character you liked is gone, except Ryu and Ken, replaced by weird lookin' dudes and children.

Ryu: Wandering the world in search of the next great fight, Ryu fights guys.

Ken: Carefree and prone to bouts of spontaneous human combustion, Ken also fights guys, stopping only to high-five Ryu before they fight.

Shinosuke: A wacky-yet determined 6 year old Japanese schoolboy, he somehow defeats fighters five times his age with cheap moves and susension-of-disbelief-stretching fireballs. He is out to prove he is a great fighter.

Sachiko: A cute 14 year old Japanese schoolgirl, her moves involve her dress flying up and lots of squealing. She is out to prove she is a great fighter.

Mako-chan: A cute little six year old Japanese schoolgirl, she is prone to hilarious-yet-adorable angry outbursts. Secretly has a crush on Shinosuke, who is too busy training to notice. She somehow defeats fighters five times her age with cheap moves and suspension-of-disbelief-stretching fireballs. She is out to prove she is a great fighter.

Yuko: A cute 16 year old Japanese schoolgirl, she practices karate day and night, as she is out to prove that she is a great fighter. Her special moves include an uppercut, spin kick and fireball.

Noriko: A cute 2 year old Japanese ninja, she is out to prove she is a great fighter.

Keiichi: A drooling 6 month old Japanese baby, he defeats his opponents with mighty fireballs. He is out to prove that Japanese game designers' infantilist obsessions know no bounds.

Balrog: Trying to prove he was still a great figher, he was reduced to a mumbling vegetable in his fight with Lennox Lewis. You smash him up in the bonus round.

Jacques: A French fighter with Guile-like moves who has no actual motivation. Looks like a cross between Iori and Shaggy from Scooby-Doo.

Scooby Doo: After you've played him in Street Fighter 4, be sure to head on over to Wendy's for the Scooby Doo Street Fighter 4 Value Meal, with rare collector's cup! Collect all 8!

Akuma: Every 1337 d00d'Z favourite character, he's back madder and radder than ever. With 9 X-treme new supers and 12 new special moves, all of which do 50% damage, and at least twice as many frames of animation as the last three Disney movies, Akuma is one lean mean evil-karate machine.

Chippu-Asuhoru: The menacing last boss, he fights you wearing only a conveniently-placed sock and a sailor's cap. Every time you hit him he gains energy, and all his moves instantly kill you dead - twice.

There's also a bunch of stuff about some evil magic power that is either taking over the world or giving Ryu a tan.

Unfortunately, it looks like your ideas are too good to come to pass...btw, Whitefolks=Smoo? Hey, I had no idea!

after the death of bison(yeah, he's dead..deal with it), vega takes control of the "shadowlaw/loo/whatever the fuck" albeit in a smaller form, and uses the power to organize a complete organization of assasins. now there is a silent walker among the darkness...

Tae

A long time lover of vega, albeit fairly younger than him...she has taken out and performed dilligently on ALL contracts of death that vega has assigned for her. now is her ultimate challenge. for her to take a seat as his "queen" and forever be known as the most lethal femefatal killing machine, she must enter a new tournament, hunt down and kill someone vega despises more than anyone else. Chun Li Xiang.

"finish the job i did for master bison on her father by destroying the Xiang legacy"

with a nod of the head, she slips on her mask, attaches her blades(one per arm),laces up her attire and dissapears in a cloud of smoke.

all that is left for vega to admire until she hopefully returns is a single black rose.

LOL Kyo, that part about Barlog in the bonus round was nice.

I hear that part of the contract that allowed Capcom to hire part of SNK's talent included that all when capcom makes another game (or is that just another SF game?) they have to include SNK characters. Can anybody confirm/deny these rumors?

Hell I wanna see another darkstalkers & Rival Schools, I don't want to see SNK vs Capcom 3. A SF4 would be cool but I don't know if that's even in the works.

Akiman seems to be doing other side projects like Red Dead Revolver and Bengus (aka CMRK) god only knows what he's doing. I hear they were in the US for a while too and maybe that's where Red Dead Revolver was developed (kinda like there was japanese Konami talent out here in the US making the Silent Hill series- japanese economy is scary I know more a couple people who leave japan to come back to the US or brazil because its so bad)

anybody else have some inside information on capcom?? I heard once that square was enticing a few capcom artists to their company can anybody confirm/deny or add to that???

bengus has his own anime motion picture coming out pretty soon. i saw a japanese trailer for it awhile back at an anime con. mechs+hot chicks+ lots of drama+ bengus' style = ownage(and this commin from someone that HATES mecha anime)

wow cool, can I have some more info on that? so that's what's been sucking up his time over these years. Do you know what his role was in production? Character designer I'm guesssing? Was he anything else?
What was the name of the anime? BTW if you can't remember the name can you tell me which con did you see it at, and at which day and what time of the day? I'll track it down from there, shouldn't be too hard. Thanks for the info, I'm guessing its that one with that weird girl with those weird locks of hair and that skinny guy with tan skin... or is that something else?? Thanks, I appreciate the info.

Q (?):

Q's mission never reaches its completion in Third Strike. It is drawn to Gouki's dark island like a moth to a flame, seeking out the strongest source of "hadou" energy. Once in Gouki's presence, Q's true powers come into effect: the ability to siphon hadou energy, slowly but surely, from his opponent.

Wordlessly, the two fight with all their strength--but as time wears on, Gouki's strength becomes Q's. The combination of Gouki's stolen dark hadou and Q's inhuman strength put Gouki on the defensive--something he had only experienced when fighting Ryu. The cave shakes with each crippling blow. Gouki finally finds an opening to strike back, and does so...

...into thin air. Q has mastered Gouki's own teleportation, moving faster than Gouki ever dreamed possible. Gouki looks down to see Q's open hand coming from his chest. Q's strike to Gouki's back has impaled him through the heart.

In a last ditch effort, sustained only by the demons he has contracted with, Gouki pours his very soul into the shungokusatsu. He grabs Q's hand with both of his own, and with a blinding flash of light, uncontrolled power begins to rip through the cave. Much of the sand beneath their feet is melted to glass. Whole parts of the cave are sheared away, while others are left untouched. The earth, the air, and veritably everything else in existence for miles shakes itself apart.

And Q remains untouched. It and Gouki seem frozen in time, separated from the chaos around them. Then suddenly, everything is as still as they are. Q's arm lowers slowly, and Gouki's body slips off onto the ground in front of him. Gouki's dying breath is filled with fear, despair, and shock...and then there is darkness.

Endless darkness. He cannot move, nor can he breathe. For over a millennium, he is trapped like this. But it only takes 200 years to drive him to madness. What little restrictions and rules Gouki has disappear. He becomes neither evil nor good...simply impulsive. Only one goal truly remains: to find Ryu, and to make him suffer.

Gouki begins to run every battle he ever had through his mind. Every mistake he made, however minor, is corrected. In his mind, he is always victorious, even winning the battle against Q. By the 1000th year of his capture, he sees himself defeating Ryu, and he knows how to do it.

As Gouki begins to live in his mind, his mental powers increase dramatically. Soon, he can move about in the void with his mind, as a corporeal form.

A few years after envisioning the method of Ryu's destruction, Gouki comes across something else in the void. It is the demons that bore him his original power...somehow trapped where he is.

The demons, corporeal beings themselves, suddenly attack Gouki.

Even with Gouki's one-thousand years of training, he would still be no match for the eternal demons.

But as the the demons charge him, they focus their energies on attack--energies that have been holding Gouki in place in this void, and shielding his senses from the truth.

That small glimpse is all Gouki needs. He sees that the whole void is a part of him somehow, and that it moves at his command. With a thought, the demons are frozen in place. They die slowly...as Gouki drains every last ounce of their power into himself.

With this immense power, Gouki sees every inch of the void. And then he attempts to look outside of its boundaries...

...and finds himself back on his island, in his cave, as if Q had never appeared so long ago.

Gouki takes a step forward, and hears the familiar crunch of bone. He looks down to see a skeleton, dressed in tattered rags. Gouki shuffles his foot to remove the skeleton's now-crushed rib cage, and as he does, the cloth on the skeleton's back is revealed. A familiar shape has been seared into the cloth, as if a fire had burned there in its shape. It is the kanji for "ten", or "heaven".

Gouki steps over the dead body, ignoring it. He climbs out of his cave, to the beach of his island. He gazes at his metallic hand, tilting it to and fro, as if in admiration. Q's holographic matrix activates slowly, and after some minor glitches, the hand is human. The face is Ryu's.

Gouki's mind turns to his exacting plan, forged over a millennium of exile...a millennium that only lasted for a few years in the real world.

He sees himself watching Ryu from the shadows. A figure runs to Ryu. It is the young, naive child that idolized Ryu...a girl whom Ryu secretly cared for.

Gouki stares at his raised hand once more, and at the ocean beyond.

Gouki does not see Ryu's death. He sees Ryu's destruction.

And with a slight swirl of sand, and the hint of a purple aura, Q disappears.

because I have a ryu pic to show off, but my scanner is still acting weird.

I was just thinking, people have said Mrwhitefolks story and characters are too dark, but I don't think that is the case when you think about it. Sagat, Dan, and Ryu all have positive motivations pretty much. I think it balances out pretty well.
Anyone want to try to make a story involving the Capcom AND Snk characters? I sure as hell won't, I don't know the Snk characters in and out, but you could probably make something much more intersting than just straight up Capcom characters.
New characters are hard to come up with, Capcom would have to have a dramatic overhaul of the series to come up with characters totally original I"m thinking.
A while back someone here had an idea I thought was really great, and that was for the next SF to occur before Street Fighter 1. Akuma and Shen Long would be the main characters, and some Street Fighter 1 characters could show up along with charactes who could be the masters who taught characters from Street Fighter 2. I think this is an excellent idea.

Here's Sagat. Currently drawing Tae, though deciding what her outfit should look like might take me until tomorrow.

Hmm... had a couple ideas for Guile, but not sure any of them are good enough. Need to keep thinking on him.

Looks good. His face makes him look alot younger to me, though.

You should've seen how I first drew his head, he looked like a damn teenager! In any case, I gave him more lines and stubble to help age him a bit, but I don't normally draw older people so I'm using this kinda get used to that. :)

As for the shorts, I've actually used that style before. To check it out (and a preview of the weapon style I'll be using for Tae), check out this pic. That's a character I made for a 3D fighter I designed around a whole new method of control that hasn't been done in fighting games yet. Created it about half a year ago, though Dog$'s the only person on the board to hear about part of it.

That last drawing is great, Mech. Looking at the Sagat drawing again, it kind of reminds me of the characters scetches for the new Mortal Kombat games.

Ah yes, I love his stuff! Some of those drawings I'm sure affected my style indirectly, though a lot of it was toning down how I used to draw. I watched gymnastics and rather liked the look of Gorillas (long arms and big hands just look cool), and so those were a couple of major sources for some time, I had a lot of characters with some odd proportions. Lately I've been trying to get my characters into proper proportion, while adding to my specific style. It's tough.

Mr. Whitefolks: Yeah, but I kinda like the thinness of his mid-section. Of course, that's also because I like the contrast with large arms, but maybe that's just me. ;)

I actually had to look up official artwork to remember a couple details about Sagat, though I simply don't draw faces in their style (and didn't want to force myself to adopt it). Something I just need to work on.

i swear to god the hardest fucker to draw serious(with the hair) is guile.

it's hard to make him look serious...and pissed, without laughing at the hair cut.

n/m...figured it out. gave him more of a solem military cut and aged him via a gotee. facial features are still the same tho(long drawn nose, frown, no eyebrows, pissed off lookin eyes, etc). works REALLY well.

How about a Texas Badass. Just some bug tough grizzled guy with no martial arts. Like a Tank Abbot. He comes out swinging. Hes fat but jacked. Need inspiration go to the UFC.tv page and lookup Tank Abbot.

also just finished off what i personally think is the best "aged" sakura ever.

short hair(like normal), sports bra style spandex tanktop(w/midriff),addidas style pants(semi tight around thighs and booty),forearm/mid hand slipons(sorta like yun/yangs or the old wcw team Harlem Heat),bandanna still there, but more styliezed to her image.

first attempt at this, and it turned out REALLY well(i looked at all of your guys' versions of an aged sakura for reference points and inspiration). i even gave her the "uber cute eyes" treatment.

only question i have about this are the shoes...black addidas styled training shoes? or stupid old school chucks?

i'd also like her a bit more tanned. these uber white japanese chicks are getting way to trendy. and add the fact that her being tanned adds to her age and overall look of a "trained" fighter, more than just a wannabe. more mature-ish(is that even a word?) if you will.

Time has passed. Since the destruction of Bison, and the false sense of disbanding Shadowloo, governments have outlawed any sort of Street Fighting - random encounters or organized events. But Street Fighting still continues in the underground... The scene has even grown larger than before, with new fighters emerging always, trying to gain enough recognition to get the attention of the legends, and prove themselves to them... Even though the legends generally ignore the underground Street Fighting (Fight Club?), one young ninja gets noticed by Zangief while looking to fulfill his bloodlust at an underground gathering. The gathering is rather small - maybe ten contestants max, though there's quite a crowd. The young ninja seems to deal with the other contestants playfully, and defeats them all with cunning, speed, and strange abilities. After the event, Zangief follows the young ninja outside, to a dark ally-way. The young ninja senses Zangief before he even speaks up. As he quickly turns around, he's just in time to see Zangief's bleeding eyes and hungry hands marching at him. The young ninja quickly jumps up the wall of a small building to the top, and peers down at Zangief. Zangief bites his lip hard and laps up the flowing blood. Throwing off his cape, he beckons the young ninja to do battle. And the young ninja accepts.

Some of the crowd leaving the main event were witness to the battle between the young ninja and Zangief. At first, the young ninja toyed with Zangief the way he toyed with the others... But Zangief was no normal match. He caught the young ninja with his signature move - the Final Atomic Buster - and meant to kill the blooming fighter with his final slam... But the young ninja seemed to vanish from Zangief's arms. Without warning, the young ninja came crashing down on Zangief with a fearsome fist, and jumped away. Zangief slowly got up, streaked the blood from his skull across his face, and laughed in short breaths. The fight ensued, and all night the two went toe-to-toe. At the breaking of dawn, two officers chanced upon the struggling fighters, and with guns drawn, ended the battle. Both fighters, seeing their fight ruined, walked separate ways, but not before the young ninja tossed his scarf at Zangief. He hopped away towards the rising sun.

Zangief took with him the scarf, meaning to decipher the Japanese characters so elegantly embroidered. One symbol he recognized - "ryu" - but the others were foreign. Zangief was obsessed with that battle, and fell into a sort of lustful love for the young ninja. He never forgot the night he could've lost in battle, and eventually translated the text on the scarf - "Strider Hiryu."

Alrighty, here's Tae.

A couple things to clear up about her design that didn't come through perfectly well in the drawing.

• Her hair actually consists of two braids, one from each side of her head, they tie together at the top of the lower back, and the bottom of the braids each have a ribbon.
• Her left glove is black at the top (the middle of er upper arm), and is then white the rest of the way down.
• The shoulder armor piece on her left arm just has those three cylinders ("spikes") in a straight line downwards.

And now, awaiting the criticism. Like someone wondering about her balance. :)

I've seen that site before (it was shown to me during the infamous JSRF thread), though it's gone through quite a redesign since I last saw it. That guy has an awesome style and is incredible at coloring, I've also been meaning to start seeing if I can do a similar style of lips and nose into my own, as I don't fully like the way I do faces.

i actually like falcoon's style of crazy art. it's way more fresh and innovative in his style for faces in his characters than that big eye small mouth hentai-ish crap that keeps pouring out of that country.

I kinda liked the idea of Ryu being afraid of his own strength after ruthlessly beating down Gill, so much that he takes into seclusion. Better yet, why not have him shackle his own arms, only to break em free at the start of a fight (of course there needs to be some huge need for him to fight, otherwise I doubt Ryu would get into anything)/

Mr.WhiteFolks, i checked out that link you put up, I like some of the art there, its just that lip style freaks me the fuck out. For some reason, the chicks look like they have man lips. That is not cool.:confused:
