For anyone that works with RAW files, have you given any though to DNG? I signed up for a photography class next semester so I would have enough hours to be a full time student, and looking at some info on the class, it mentions using the digital negative file format. I hadn't really given it much thought before, but decided to look into it. I don't plan on getting rid of my original RAW files, but am thinking about archiving all my original RAW files as DNG.
I quite like the caterpillar shot. The balance in the frame reminds me of some shots I've taken.
I haven't. I don't even do RAW files--didn't used to have a Photoshop that could read them, but now that I do I'm just being stingy with hard drive space and I'm not doing anything with the photos but web anyway.
Here's one of a bunch of shots I snapped on my week-long motorcycle excursion I just got home from. This is in Klamath, California, a small town among the redwoods.
Some more photos from my trip through the Pacific Northwest. Even more on my blog.
Finally got to actually take some of my own pictures for a change. These are from traveling around the Tucson, AZ area.
Very nice Cap, especially like the first cactus shot. How hard were the lightning grabs?
Not too bad, but they could have been better. Getting the shots in focus are the hardest part. The lighting was pretty constant, so just setting it on the tripod and then using a remote to keep the shutter open till a bolt strikes was pretty easy. Unfortunately, the next night there was no good lightning, so I wasn't able to try again and perfect the technique.
