That Garmin commercial was amazing.
What's bad about laughing at genuinely funny ads? Superbowl ads do not violate my personal freedom, they do not violate my rights, I am free to ignore them if I so choose, and there's nothing insideous or underhanded about them... they're ads, they don't pretend to be anything other than ads, and everyone knows they're ads. And as was already pointed out, thinking that a marketing firm came up with a clever campaign doesn't mean we give a shit about the product being sold.
Am I missing something here, or is this just generic misdirected rage-against-the-machine angst?
No sir.
The idea that people would spend their time critiquing advertisements instead of actual art just seems a little sick.
