Grim Fandango sucks.
BTN.
I beat Grim Fandango not too long ago. I love the atmosphere this game has. The writing is nice, too.
I beat it using Windows XP, and my main problems dealt with processor affinities. I had to make it so that the game would run on CPU 0 rather than CPU 0 + 1.
I should also note that I used this launcher: http://quick.mixnmojo.com/software#grimlauncher.
Yeah, I love the game despite the seemingly unending list of hardware problems it causes.
I'm now at the beginning of Year 4, just after returning to El Marrow, and the game now crashes every time I try to leave the booby-trapped garage. Oy.

I saw Officer and a Gentleman again last weekend and was surprised to see Tony Plana in the cast. Looks like he plays the father on Ugly Betty, too.
CTRL+ALT+DELETE -> Find Grim Fandango's process. -> Right-click. -> Set affinity.
It depends on what type of processor you have. So, if you only have one selection available, then you're pretty much in a completely different situation than I was in.
Basically, I just set it to CPU 0 rather than both CPU 0 and 1 (the default set).
