Anyone remember Fantasmagoria?

It was made by Sierra for the PC when they were on the top of their game (Police Quest series, Lesiure Suit Larry/Space Quest series).

This was years ago...it must be 5 years since it's release, it got a lot of heat on it for it's violence/gore content (this was around the time the MK games were really popular). It used all FMV and was a point and click style puzzle game (like Myst). It even spawned a sequel which was suppost to be pretty extreme as well.

I tried finding it on the net but couldn't find anything. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I remember. The name of the sequel was "A Puzzle of Flesh." I dig these games. But there are many other Sierra adventure games that are better.

It came out longer than 5 years ago. But I remember it. We used to run it as a demo in my EB. The best was, showing the scene at the end where the persons head gets split in two. Or the garden trowel scene. Ah.... good times.

Yeah I remember it. I played it briefly way back when I wa sin my 7th Guest phase and even then I didn't like it. I wonder how poor it'll be now...

It's actually PHantasmagoria, and I still have the game (actually about to start it up again soon). It was more like a LucasArts type game than Myst, especially since you really couldn't die (at least not until the end). I always got stuck in the same part, and did everything my friends who played it told me to do... oh well. I briefly played the sequel, and it was pretty good, although I think they went for more extreme content just to see what they could get away with, the game itself wasn't as good.

I thought I was spelling it wrong. Thanks for the correction. It just popped into my head the other day, nd nI realized I always wanted to play it but necer got the chance to. Was it really that violent/gory? I heared it was edited for content. I suppose by now the FMV looks terrible and the effects can't look too swift either. What was the first one about? I remember the second one being about a guy going crazy...having violent nightmares and his co-workers getting killed afterwards.

Damn, now I really want to play it just to see what the fuss was about.

Only reason I remember it is because of a very funny story in the tales of the hardcore issue of next generation. Think I'll go reread that one.

The first one was about this young couple that moves into an old house in a small town. You play as the wife, and as you explore, you realize that some strange shit went down in the house prior. PLus, if I remember correctly, the husband gets possessed or something. I think there's a part where he's a little rough and forceful when it comes to sex, and that was part of the controversy.
