Looking good. Lets hope it will turn out ok.
Murakumo is just so damn sexy. From Software is gaining my respect as of late. If this, along with O.to.gi, and Thousnd Lands turn out good, they will become one of the developers I keep an eye on constantly.
I am really hoping this game turns out the way Im thinking its supposed to be. Ive always wanted a game where Im blasting through a cityscape at break neck speeds, gunning down a rogue mech. LA Machineguns in third person is what I want I guess. Damn that would be great.

Wow. This looks nice. So nice, in fact, I'm willing to forget about Lost Kingdoms.
Not to hijack but....
Wha? You dont like? Ive heard alot of good things about this one, and I was gonna pick it up this weekend... Im still a bit aprehensive about it. I can get a bunch of Genesis game for 50, so I dunno...Quote:

*sniff* I smell CG... where's the gameplay shots? I'm somewhat impressed with the art direction in the shots, the mechs look cool, but it's still just CG. I'm positive that I'll turn out to like the game though.

Hehe, you know how From Software is with their mech controls.
:o
Only the first one looks CG, the rest look in-game. Note how the buildings look, the edges of everything, and how things reflect light. I'd say those last five are "real".Quote:

When in doubt, rent! I couldn't stand the damn game. It felt so shallow and bereft of anything intreguing or even semi interesting. It didn't look to bad, and the controls were good...but there is a grand total of two actions you can preform! Walk and use a card...and open item boxes and talk to people, but I'm not counting them.. I would hope they wouldn't screw up such a simple control scheme. And there's only so much "go here, kill everything" I can handle. No plot devices, no new and innovative ways to kill opponents. Just throw cards at them and haul ass in the other direction. Because your character can't actually attack. I was at the first major boss, ran him down to two farking hit points...and ran out of cards. I had to let him kill me to try again...:mad:Quote:

Yeah, like MechDeus said, only the first two are CG :) From watching the movies, this game looks unbelievably good, and the control looks infinitely more intuitive than the Armored Core games :)Quote:

Bleargh, I wasn't sure on the second, it was a bit too close-up for me to tell. :)Quote:

I certainly hope the controls are better then Armored Core. It's a decent game, but the plays like Tekken (i.e. Not sure if it wants to try and be realistic or really arcadey) and that really inteferes with any sort of flow.
Rest assured, the video makes the control look extremely good :) It looks like a consistently-flying Gunvalkyrie, in modern American cities, with tripple the speed, tripple the action (you see those buildings? They fall realistically at your very whim :)), and tripple the graphics (yes, three times as good as Gunvalkyrie's graphics  ). This game looks mighty impressive, to say the least :)
Where is this said video? I'm interested.
*taps feet loudly in desperation*
Linkage to these movies please?
Sorry guys, it's GS Complete only :( I'd think about hosting it myself, just because of it's sheer amazery, but I don't know how to upload videos :( I can give it over AIM if anyone wants, my AIM name is Andy78787 :)
Or you could do something crazy like paying for GS complete to get it. :p
Haven't seen it myself, but I'm sure a movie would only make the waiting that much more painful, just like everytime someone compares it to Gunvalkyrie.
Erm... I DO have GS Complete, I just figured you guys didn't considering you asked for it
lol I find it hard to believe from soft would make a fast game is all. They usually make really slow and sluggish games that are a bit rough around the edges. King's Field (half an hour to turn around), the original ps Armored Core (what's the point of having jump-jets if the mech is so heavy to jump it, that you can't use it to avoid bullets in time like in countless animes?)
I definitely agree with you, their history makes it hard to believe that they can make an intuitive control system, but they've really done it this time :D
Dont forget to include the Murakumo home site.
With fantastic quotes such as...
"When A.R.K. smashes into something there will be dynamic and showy effect like movies such as removed coating, broken armoring and big explosion. Not only graphic but also real time 5.1ch surround arouse player to feel as if player was a hero of a movie. And who makes such movielike situation is of course YOU."
Well of COURSE I make movie like situation with dynamic and showy.
Hehe, that 5.1 ch surround is soooo arousing! I'm looking forward to this one. Those lucky Japanese get a demo with this and Crazy Taxi 3. :(
Maybe we should all stop buying stuff and then they will give us cool free stuff too....

um...the lighting looks great and so do the mechs, but everything else (model-wise) looks weak.
Hero is a non-sensical baffoon :D
of course.
Just joking, Hero :D
I have a feeling that everything in the game will move so fast that the back ground models wont matter as much. Plus with buildings collapsing and such, I bet it will look more impressive in motion.

Wise words Z-roe
I reckon that the buildings woul look even better sans textures with some stylish lighting.
Try a clinically white version of Tron and that's what I'm thinking about.
I'm more for pushing graphical styles these days. Too often textures look ugly. (DC games excluded on the whole esp. Sonic Adv 2).
Thank you.
I remember an argument a while back regarding graphical power PS2 vs DC. People were saying how you can see your car refleted in the windows of buildings in RRV. While that stand for the argument, I always thought, "How boring must RRV be for people to be watching the buildings."
Same here, it might be nice to see my mech reflected in a buildings windows, but if thats what Im paying attention to, then something must be seriously wrong with the game. Of course, now Im going on and on about something that Hero didnt really seem to harp on. Sorry. I'll shut up.

P.S. Im a texture freak, and I really wish developers would take the time to see what a diffrence stylisticly, and overall graphical presentation a nice set of textures can give you. Melbourne House are some cool cats that know where its at. I'm para-phrasing here.. "A good texture is worth a thousand polygons." Ever so true in my book.
Aaagh yes,
Melbourne House - The Lobotomy of the DC era.
The twilight lighting effects in Le Mans (Test Drive: Le Mans in US I think) are amazing.
I think it is the best lighting I've seens in a game (including Res Evil on GC).
Wow...
Looks simply amazing.
I love From Software, and I need to check out the vid when I get home tonite.
Has this been announced to come to the states yet?
