New arcade game featuring all-female characters
"Otome" Means something like "young lady" or "virgin" and it's hypothesized the game intends to parody the likes of Mushihime-sama and Twinkle Star Sprites.
Damn, all these shooters coming out, I'm so far behind since it's hard for me to cough up $60+ for them.

I guess it's a Gradius-based game.. wonder what hardware it's running on, or if it's perhaps based on the GV engine.
EDIT: Arcana Heart.. Exelica.. Muchi Muchi Pork.. Otomedius.. other games I can't think of.. today's Japan arcade is downright perverted. And I mean more than usual.

Word, that looks pretty cool. Hori shooters have moved back ahead of Vert shooters for me. I've gotten a bit tired of all these bullet-hell verts and have been playing mainly horis like Border Down, TF V, and even Gradius V has grown on me.
I've been playing the shit out of R-Type Delta as of late. And some [emulated] Last Resort. Horis really don't fuck around.
Anyone notice the blue character's cockpit resembles the Vic Viper?

I guess it's just the hori shooting with female characters, along with a full-screen super attack, but this game vaguely reminds me of the Battle Mania series on MD/Genesis.

Someday the 360 is gonna get a shooter I actually want to play and it's gonna suck.
I tried to play this in the arcade but it wouldn't start unless I had bought a Konami arcade card and it ate my money. I was pissed.
The visuals look really super-clean, though. Pretty sure it's HD. And it's clearly a successor to Parodius. Built entirely on the Gradius template but with wacky characters and pastel colours everwhere.
Sweet, another shmup that will be stuck in Japan and sell eight copies
