I can think of several far more expensive Saturn games. Panzer Dragoon Saga, Radiant Silvergun, and Psychic Killer Taromaru, for instance. The last game is probably the rarest non-promo Saturn game out there (and gods help you if you're trying to collect all 5 art variants).
As for PS1, Suikoden 2 and Valkyrie Profile are the two biggies. SOTN has a very affordable GH re-release and Chronicles, while fairly expensive for a PS1 game, does not regularly fetch triple digits. Zanac X Zanac and Toaplan Shooting Battle Vol. 1 are also fairly high-priced imports, though patience can net you them for about $70 or $80 each.
Most once-rare PS2 games have had reprints. That includes Disgaea, Rez, and ZoE2. MvC2 is the only really rare one to not get reprinted.
A fair number of Neo-Geo titles are stupidly expensive (mainly due to the insane retail price), but the $14000 Kizuna Encounter takes the cake. You can buy a fucking CAR for that, for gods' sakes.
Sapphire on PC Engine is around $300, but there are tons of bootlegs out there that have sort of diluted the market. I certainly wouldn't buy a Sapphire on ebay without trusting the seller already.

You're right about sotn. I think its because you can buy it on xbox live. Chronicles is selling for over $50 though. It used to go for $15 couple of months back.
Final Fantasy 7 Sealed fetches insane amounts of money.
Pffft. Nothing. You can buy a 1997 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo for $79k. You could buy a loose copy of fucking RAMPIN DOSA for PC Engine for that much. Boxed would run you in the hundreds of thousands. I saw an auction in 2001 hit $501,323.42, and there was a tear in the instructions. Heck, Tar Butt Sunday goes for $30k, and that's for the crappy re-release of the Wonderswan version. If you want the real stuff, you have to get the Pippin release. Good luck on finding that for less than the price of a house in Queens.Quote:

Its surprising that no dreamcast games are worth more then their original prices. One that does look like it has some potential is Power Stone 2. It goes for $40 to 50 on ebay. I doubt dreamcast's Ikaruga will ever match saturn's Radian Silvergun on ebay.

The only explanation I can think of for Border Down's crazy demand (over Under Defeat's, Trizeal's, Rajirugi's or Chaos Field's) is its dreamcast exclusive.
Under Defeat is DC exclusive as well. It's still possible to find it, tho.
I sold Ikaruga a few months back for $80. I don't know if it'll ever break $100, but i wouldn't be too surprised. I bought Radiant Silvergun for $90 back in 2001.

Border Down is the first or second best hori shooter, depending on where you rank TF V. It's worth up to $100, but not the $130-150 I've seen it going for, however (unless you're talking the LE or Direct versions).Quote:

Psychic Killer Taromaru for the Saturn goes for insane amounts on ebay when its listed.
Slightly off topic, but an arcade called Aliens Extermination is up for $7,600. If arcades wern't so dead and the price would come down enough, I'd be playing it by now.
Forgot about Drash, but it doesn't go for $1000 anymore. Those few psychotic eBay auctions a couple years ago caused people to dig through their closets and find copies.
It's still up there at about $500, though.

I signed up on their email list to buy a copy but Thunderbird told us that BS was all sold out (this is back in 2000 or so). Unfortunately, you probably will never get Battlesphere. The price is inflated to ridiculous level (and b/c of Thunderbird and the shitty Jaguar community), you will never find a copy for a good price. When you get into Factory Sealed games, thats a different area of buyers and the sky is the limit.
Also prototypes and demos tend to fetch a lot depending on the situation
On the PC, you forgot an original, account intact, in shrinkwrap, WoW: CE.
Sucker goes for about $400-500 if you can find one.
Mt. Drash has gone for $1800. WoW:CE will drop in time and won't retain value. Everything on that list has been stable, or gaining value, for at least 5 years (MGS3 aside). There is no comparison.
Magical Drop has decreased in value over the past few years as have most of the 2600 games that were listed.
I've always wanted those SNES competition carts; I need high score saving in every game.
