Sorry to hear that. I remember you mentioned that you were applying in the last TNL NYC meetup.
It has more to do with Razor's willingness to fight with any guy.

The closest it's come to "working" is Cuba, and look how that is.
China is not a true communist state, more like a weird mix of capitalism and communism.
Communism only works in theory if you ignore basic fundamental desires of people to want better things in their lives, and to have the opportunity to work towards those things.
All people are NOT created equal, and the lazy fucktards of the world do not deserve the same as hard working people.
You're a communist Razor.
I can't believe the Peace Corps turns people away. Don't they make you live in mud huts and work for free?
You're a volunteer but believe they pay you. You get a weekly stipend on top of about $60 grand when you come back after completing the program to adjust to live in the US again. They also pay off a percentage of your student loans per year.
And it depends on what country you serve in if you are worried about living in a hut. Africa and South America are defnitely huts. Europe are mostly hostels and hotels that they pay for.
And I'm a Socialist, Andrew. But honestly, my politicks are irrelavent since not a lot of people even know that.
Journalism is a hard way to make money, especially at first.
Also, have you talked to other people that have done the Peace Corp thing? I'm not saying you should or shouldn't pursue it, but every person I know that has done it has horror stories about how fucked up it is and how they got dicked over.
I have a friend in it now and I've had mentors that also participated in it. I know what to expect.
I make a little over $40k a year, and I honestly can't complain. I pay half the mortgage, and my bro pays the other half. If I weren't so lazy, I would do more freelance work in my field and push that closer to 50k. I'm planning to finish getting my degree in fall or early next year, so that might take a slight dip.
