You could say it's time I upgrade. Here's what I hoping to sell:
-HP 8550c- with 17inch monitor
Windows 98 and an assortment of software
500MHz Celeron
96mb RAM
16g HD
4x2x24 CD-RW
42x CD-ROM
Broadband ready/ethernet card inside
Yeah, it's about time for a new comp. There's a computer show this weekend and I'm planning to buy the necessary parts and build one myself.
A fair price...hmmm
I would say based on those specs around $300. I know that sounds kinda low, but a low-end computer is only like 600 for at least 1 ghz these days. Although an HP 8000 series would be a lot more dependable than a cheap E-machine or an HP Wal-mart special.
I'm hoping to at least get $450 for it. The monitor alone cost me about $300. I bought my comp 2-4 years.
You won't get over 200$ for the box alone, unless you know some real suckers.

No one is going to buy that. And heck if you're on a budget keep the monitor! Put the money you save on a new monitor into a graphics card or something.
Yeah with computers today and something that is as old as your machine is, you would be lucky to find someone to give you $200 for it.
Keep the monitor,ethernet card and whatever else you can get out of it.
Unfortunately, the computer resale market is no where near that of the console market.
I'd probably give you around $200 for the whole package.

I was hoping to get a 19" monitor this time around. I saw one at Sams for $189. (Made by Samsung)
Well, I'll put an ad up in the paper for $400-450. That's after I build a new one. I'm sure there's someone out there who'll buy it for that price. (I hope.)
My friend just got a 19 inch moniter from compUSA for $107. It's a bubbled out Envision, sucks balls. Samsung puts out some good stuff though.
