I love the Gothic series and this is pretty much the spiritual successor to it but I'm a little concerned that the 360 may be the lead development platform and Gothic 3 was a glitchfest that the community eventually fixed up (mostly). Gothic 3 was such a steaming pile of garbage that I will not touch Risen until it is proven to be awesome.
PC was the lead for Risen... but yeah, wait for the first patch at least.

Left 4 Dead 2 is now up for pre-purchase on Steam. Is anyone interested in splitting one of the four-packs? It comes to about $34 each if I can find three more people to pitch in.
Pre-purchasing also gets you early access to the demo. October 26th or so.
