Speaking of deals, The Last Remnant is $10 on Steam today. I like it, but the game is probably going to annoy JRPG and WRPG fans alike with its totally bizarre and unconventional mechanics that meld elements of both. It's pretty much a SaGa game in all but name. There's a demo, in case you're interested but not sold.
Last Remnant is an amazing game on the PC. They fixed all of the problems the 360 had except for the awful story (which can be skipped). I rebought it and have been playing it again over other games I haven't finished.
Tex Murphy 1 and 2 are on sale at GOG for $0. That's right, free.

The first one is pretty strange game that might try the patience of those who are no longer willing to write shit down when they play a game, but the second is a pretty neat point-and-click adventure well worth playing.
New retro gaming control stick coming from Microprose (!):

Quote:
The Microprose Arcade Professional (MPPC-AP01) is designed to support the large casual and retro gamer market. The usb based controller features an 8 way digital stick reminiscent of the Atari 2600’s joystick design, and a 2 mode 360 degree analog trackball. The standard action buttons are laid out in a spread palm format instead of the normal diamond shape, allowing quick access support for combinations in many of the classic fighting games on your favorite PC, Mac, and Linux based emulator.
I like writing shit down when I play games!
and oh man at that stick
How are the Myst games, anyway? I was considering Myst 1 and Riven on GOG.
Also, to the 2 people who might not know this, Valve just released another Team Fortress 2 update. Big changes for demomen and soldiers, 2 new maps and lots of new achievements: http://www.teamfortress.com/war/part7/index.htm
And if you don't already have it, you can play it free this weekend: http://store.steampowered.com/app/440/ (not to mention that it's also half-price during the free weekend)
God I love Valve.
omfg tex murphy time
Ed, the Myst games are basically fuck around and click on the correct part of the screen puzzles made with super old quicktime and people were like "ooh it looks pretty and moves" back in 1776 when it was first released.
Regardless, I've always had issues when trying to play the first Myst and eventually gave up. If GOG has them working right I'd go through them just to say I have.
EDIT: Holy shit you guys, Sanitarium is on GOG!! WHY WAS I NOT TOLD
