all major gaming websites have been doing crazy amounts of give aways for them. Try here, IGN, gametrailers, everywhere.
If i get anymore ill raffle them here, i have 1 more and as soon as i have time to properly raffle it i will.
I'm not jumping through hoops for a goddamn demo.
Watch out, you copy and paste a youtube video ive posted here on the thread for a chance to win
GameInformer was just handing them out via email, gamespot was rewarding for sending an email. Joystiq just wants a comment.
I feel the same way epmode does. I went to Joystiq and saw all the "ways" to get the demo and closed the window.
Yeah, I'm not terribly thrilled about it either.
I think I want to try making a Shark Attack themed level. With like a shark race or something. Sweet.
Congrats port, youve won the 3rd LBP code ive received.
here is a sneak peak of what i am working on TNL
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/a...1&d=1223006518
and you havent seen the half of it, Bahn knows what im working on, its gonna be great
So yeah, messing around more I'm definitely not buying this at release. The level editor is great but the controls and reactions of sackboy are just too sloppy. Shiny exterior aside it ultimately feels like a low-budget indie project that should be $5-10 on Steam. It's a definite purchase after a couple price drops and certainly a better decision than Spore, but I'm already bored and annoyed with the gameplay.
Maybe next time (or through a patch) they'll let us adjust the physics of sackboy, that alone would make this a lot better. Until then, whatever.
p.s. I can see this being a horrible thing for 4chan to get a hold of.
p.p.s. I never did build a level where you battle your way through the inside of a penis and then get shot out of the tip at the end. Someone else get on that.
A 16 minute video from 1UP with input from the editors on the LBP beta. I'm really looking forward to this game.
http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/21792
I hope there's a demo (other than this one that they won't let everyone play durhur) when it lands because I'm psyched for the editor but the physics concerns do have me worried. If the core of the game feels sloppy then it doesn't matter how good anything else is.
I was invited to the beta on Thursday night and played it a ton on Friday night, where I was having a great time with the core game and with a good deal of the levels other people made. The core physics seemed fine to me. I wish Sackboy jumped a little higher, but the physics aren't broken by any means, they are just very detailed.
Did anyone else here in the beta have a bitch of a time playing this Saturday afternoon, though? It seemed like the LBP server was slow as hell, the game seemed to be glitching up all over the place (I would push the grab button and Sackboy's arm would stretch to off the screen and grab something I couldn't see) and the level editor suddenly became buggy (If you pushed the undo button it would get stuck with the VHS-type speed lines and wouldn't allow you to do any menu options other than exiting the editor). Side note: All this crap was working fine Friday night.
I haven't touched LBP since Saturday, so if these problems were caused by something in the network I hope they're fixed now or at least for the final release.
I want this game so bad that I'm crying as I type this.
Why we can't have nice things:Which TNLers are in the beta again? ;)
I'm in the beta but for some reason I've never been able to connect to the servers which is pissing me off.
I keep getting error 500.
I noticed that LBP was on the front page of the USA Today yesterday. Here's the article:
http://www.usatoday.com/tech/gaming/...g-planet_N.htm
I got in a few days ago. Played through the story levels and a few user-created things. I'm still not sure what I think of the game, honestly.
I'll probably pick it up just because it's so stupidly stylish and the net integration is so impressive.
I'm in the same boat. I was extremely impressed with the story levels and the possibility this games bring to the table, but I hate how the user created levels are displayed and the majority of the user content has me very "meh" about the whole thing. I'm hoping the final release has all the bugs worked out because I would probably enjoy tinking with the level editor, but it's crashed on me more times than it's worked.
Hrrrmmm I finally found out how to get online to work. Apparantly there's some weird shit with the servers. They're region locked and I can't connect unless I have my language set to Japanese. I'm now nervous about my preorder that I have for the asian version. I'm going to have to cancel for now and wait to either get the Japanese version or find out if the servers are ok.
Do you know if the servers are region locked so that you have to connect to your own region, but all the servers are still connected to share levels, or are the levels not being spread world wide and only with your own region? I've seen levels with Japanese titles on the sharing planet here in the US.
Goddamnit, I wanted in on this beta so bad. I entered at like 4 different sites.
I have another US beta code! Raffle time! Ill raffle it around 5pm PST, so if you haven't entered your PSN, do so.
Just message my PSN "B-Ri" with your TNL forum-name, and ill randomly draw a name.
<3
I'm trying to make my own level, but right now it looks like a bunch of lincoln logs and tinker toys butt fucked and threw up all over it.
:(
It's hard.
It does take some time to get used to the creation tools. Be sure that when you do create something, you capture it using your goodies bag. Lets say you make a good little AI creature that attacks, no need to make him block by block, just copy him and hes easily paste-able in any level you create thus far.
Rewards by playing other peoples levels are also their creations as well, from there you can take apart things to see how they made them, make your own modifications and make something cool as well.
This is my first time finally getting back on it since i showed that screenshot above, hopefully ill finish it today and show you
I would like to see it. You level that is.
Sounds like a typical user level. Quick, upload it!
I haven't been able to finish the level I was working on but I should be able to bust out the rest tomorrow night. It's not a very gameplay oriented level, it's more just a tryout for atmospheric effects and designs.
I have entered your raffle! Here's hoping I have a chance at seeing anybody's levels soon.
Bad news guys. LBP seemed to screw up on my PS3, and now ive lost the level and most of the creations that came with it. Ill attempt to make it again but here was the idea behind the level.
:'( lets see if i can remake it.Quote:

That sounds hilariously awesome. I would have liked to have seen Biff Little Big Planet-ified.
I have some EARLY screenshots that i had showed bahn, here they are.
Biff is there, but thats just purely his skeleton, this was still really early in the level. I was still tweaking him before i made his stickers for his look
Biff should be a unicorn.
Hell, if TNL wants me to design biff in their vision, lets do it.
Unicorn horn, any other requests?
I would buy Little Big Planet just to play the TNL stage. That sounds incredible.
It makes me want to get a Playstation camera, or whatever they call it.
OH HELLS!!!!! Got in with the USA today link!!!!!!So Much Looovvvveee!!!!!!
I sent an email to the USA Today thing hours ago and I'm still waiting for a response. If they wanted to open it, they should have just fucking opened it and let everybody download it. This is getting old.
Took nearly a whole day for me. You'll probably get a reply tomorrow.
The TNL level is finished, and i made some changes to make the level extra fun. I will make a video of it eventually, or if someone else could that would help a lot as i am so busy. The name of it is "TNL Vs Biff", search either that or look under my username ("B-Ri") and you should find it easy!
To celebrate the release of my TNL level, I will not be giving just one LBP code away, ill be giving away two!
AND ill be giving them away RIGHT now.
Congrats to epmode and Grave for winning the two beta keys! Check your PM boxes boys!
The guys (and girl) on the recent 1up Your's podcast were raving about this game. I've been trying not to get too hyped about this (or too many other games) this season as there is just way too much coming out, but this may have to be a first day get just to play some of the amazing levels I hear people are making.
Hooray! Thanks B-Ri! After the big DL I'll be sure to check out what everyone's been up to with the beta so far. :D
B-Ri, check PMs please.
I'll check out the TNL level tonight.
Just played it. A few seriously lol-worthy moments. Cute stuff! And TNL stickers to take away!
That said, I really, really, REALLY love the idea of this game. I don't quite have the physics/control down yet, but from what I've seen so far, this has the potential to be both a brilliant game (provided the levels are there) and an amazing toy with unlimited replay value. I'm pretty much sold on the potential of the retail release.
I recommend the MGS level as well, it's awesome. And the Shadow of Colossus one is cool, but damned hard.
Thank you USA Today!
I finally finished downloading/installing it, so now off to get the TNL level.
Everyone friend me on their PS3s pls
I beat Biff and got the TNL and Nick stickers, but now I don't see them in my inventory. WTF?
Good stuff B-Ri.
Its because they are not stickers you were rewarded with. Theyre premade objects youll find in your goodies bag under "community objects"
If you guys would like the stickers i can make that happen.
Also, you get 3 levels of rewards if you truly beat the level fully.
Notable changes to the first synopsis:
-Biff now has a fire crotch, stay away or truly be burned
-As requested by K3V, he also now sports an electrified unicorn horn
-You now attempt to put him on your ignore list
-Nick now also accompanies you through the trip
LAST but not least, it took a little thinking, when you give biff the red card, the game takes a picture for you to keep of the instant that red card blows up in his face. Just check your photo-booth section of Stickers! Its your souvenir, stick it anywhere you want!
Also, we have 1 more code. I will raffle it off tonight 10pm PST, so last minute entries gogogogo.
B-Ri, Awesome job on the TNL level!
Ugh, I need a beta code! Someone needs to make a damn mog!
Would definitely love to have stickers to throw around. Been playing random levels online wth folks a lot, this game is as fun as hell. The physics/control take some getting used to, and they're not as tight as I'd like, but so far it hasn't really mattered a lot. The Ninja Warrior stage someone made is amazing. I miss watching it, I wish I still had G4. :(
if someone makes a video of the tnl level, I'll put it up on the main site or some shit
Im sorry i fell asleep last night guys and couldnt raffle the ticket!
But anyway, now i can, CONGRATS D_N_G, youve won quite possibly the LAST LBP beta, as the end of it is tomorrow.
I will make a video of the TNL Level shortly, cka, so stick around.
enjoy TNL, the video is available in high quality if you click the link below and select "view in high quality"

Man, what an amazing game!!! Have you guys tried the greenhill zones, I think there's four of them. The guy did a really great job on those. What are some of the best ones that ya'll have found?
I like the "Houston we have a problem stage" and the "dinoland" stage. Wipeout stage is pretty fun too. "The Heist" stages are good too.
Aight, I'm gonna check those out now.
I think I'll be getting the strategy guide for this game just so I can get the most out of the level editor. I usually avoid those things like the plague but I think it will be beneficial with this one.
So who all is buying this game? I'll be sure to add you guys to my PS3.
Hey, looks like places got this early. Anybody get it?
In particular a C&C Games in Bowling Green got it.
Tain?
Got my copy, about to play it.
Fucking Gross and inexcusable. My HD CRT doesn't do 720p only 1080i. LBP is forced to 480p.
What the fuck is wrong with Sony, they're the only console this gen that does that.
It's ok, at least this game doesn't look fucking gross in 480p like Motorstorm did.
It doesn't scale to 1080i? That's pretty weak.
It's fucking super weak, but still fun, so meh.
Wow. With the good press on this game I'm actually interested in playing something on the PS3. Give your higher-ups a congratulations for me, B-Ri.
This thread brought me a good record 1 rep point.
I was hoping to make it to two pixel dudes :'(
Also who says i am not higher up :p
I would buy a PS3 just for this game.
That's going a little over the line.
I wouldn't be surprised that this makes it into the Sony Hail Mary bundle with the system, game and eyetoy sometime next year. Perfect show piece for new comers.
This game came in early today. If you know places that break street dates.....
I got it yesterday, loser.
Servers were down too.
Interesting to see how the PSN handles the traffic if this takes off.
Meredith keeps making Sackboy do the DX crotch chop. Classic.
It's the little things.
Online servers still aren't up. Guess they're waiting until Tuesday.
We got this in today.
Any B-Lo crew interest? I can bring some to Buff on Sat/Sun.
Delayed.

Religious outcry sparks LittleBigRecall
New PlayStation game soundtrack unpopular with some Islamic groups
LittleBigPlanet, one of this year's most-anticipated PlayStation 3 releases, won't be arriving in stores next week as expected.
The "social platforming" game is already gathering rave reviews, but it hasn't proven popular with one Muslim group, which issued a complaint to the game's publisher Sony concerning one background music track. Performed by award-winning Malian musician Toumani Diabate, the song quotes two verses from the Qur'an. Many Muslims consider the mixing of music and scripture to be deeply offensive.
Although the game is already pressed, packaged, and reportedly sitting in the back rooms of many worldwide retailers awaiting its original Oct. 21 debut, gamers eager to get hold of it will have to wait at least another week while the offending content is expunged. Updated versions of the game are expected to be shipped to stores during the week of October 27.
forum where it was spotted
Yeah, it was posted already in its own thread on the same exact page.
http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/s...ad.php?t=52092
Anyone else having an issue starting the game after applying the patch? I get into the game but then it hangs at a black screen for like a minute before the game launches.
Master Plan, Muslims win.
The servers must be getting hammered, failed to load B-Ri's TNL Level.
That's my guess, too. I was playing last night and it kept stuttering and lagging to load stuff (and I was playing by myself), where before, when it wasn't able to connect, everything was loading smooth and fast. I couldn't even get the custom levels to display last night. Here's hoping these network kinks work themselves out.
why is the PS3 so shitty.
Were the servers down again this morning? I couldn't connect at around 9pm EST.
I hate to ask but I've got someone who wants to know, and I can't find the info- how do you heart other players? I've looked in the instruction manual and Gamefaqs and come up blank.
