Best Sequel Ever!

Mizuguchi talks to IGN about a sequel to the greatest synaesthesic tribute to the art of Wassily Kandinsky OF ALL TIME. Also mentioned something about that game where he ripped off Dee-Lite.

I bought Rez after reading all the hype here, played it a few times, and sold it. It's a decent on-rail shooter, but best game ever? Hardly.

Perhaps my mistake was that I played it while sober?

Some years ago, my friends and I planned an evening of eating shrooms and playing a laundry list of games. When shit started getting weird, the games got surpringly boring so we went outside. Way better. The trees were melting and the traffic lights were squeaking, but the video games were just sort of confusing and irritating.

Therefore:
Rez on weed = pretty good
Rez on psychedelic drugs = overrated
Chrono Cross after five pills of oxycoton on a warm summers evening = much better

Rez is awesome, I can just chill out and play that game at any moment, it is such a relaxing experience, it never gets old. I love it and definitely buy a sequel D1.

They did. Shenmue II. And, honestly, it probably is the best sequel ever. Maybe the best game ever. And I wasn't crazy about the first game, either.

I think it's an excellent sequel. It greatly expands the story, gives you way more places to go, eliminates the required time waiting many hated, etc.. I do think the original is superior in some ways(no town is as well developed as the first, and the mega battle at the end is better) but overall, it was the proper evolution a sequel should be. Like Frog, I would put it in my top 10 games of all time, too.

if you want to denegrate me as if that proves your point, whatever. However, I can list several things that makes Shenmue unfun.
Rez is a shooter. It doesn't take much to make that genre fun. Decent graphics, cool atmosphere, good control, interesting enemy interaction.
If you don't like the game, you don't like the game. But just because you don't like doesn't mean it's no good.

I'd defineatly rank it in the top 5 Dreamcast titles. Yu really put a lot of detail into this game, and the overall experiece made me feel like I was a part of this surreal world.

I can't believe people really don't like Rez. I can understand people saying it's overrated, but not liking the game makes no sense to me.

But then, I don't like Ghost Recon or Rainbow 6 or World of Warcraft and I LOVE Tekken, so maybe therein lies the problem.

We Love Katamari was kinda dissapointing. It wasn't bad or anything, but it's pretty fucking far from the best sequel ever.

Also Shenmue, Shenmue II, and Rez are all pretty crappy.
