TMNT will be mine tonight. Has anyone tried online co-op yet? How's the lag?
I had none when playing with a friend.
Sweet. I'll be on after 2 p.m. EST.
Downloaded it.
The intro still gives me chills. For some reason, every arcade machine had the bass up, and the intro always thumped like crazy.
Still a great game! Just forgot how short it was. Didn't seem that way when it was taking quarters away from me when I was young...
How is it that some assholes have 1100 kills already?
They are just plain better than you. Accept it.
It cannot be.
BUT IT IS!
TMNT is just as good as I remember it.
Does anyone else have a problem with XBLA games having really low volume? It only happens to me with the arcade classics, though. TMNT was low as hell, but Heavy Weapon was booming all over the place.
Weird.
I seem to be a tad rusty, but I made my first trip through TMNT ok. I'll have to post up a better score later. Must co-op soon!
Played some co-op with definit. Its was glorious. Too bad we suck and never finished it. I like that co-op Live has a limited amount of lives.
Can you play a few people play on 1 console then have the other spots filled with people on Live?? That would be sweet. Oh yeah, screw you Evilmog! Stupid out of town crap!
The games doesnt allow more than 1 player per box to go live for co-op. The games one bad point. They should have allowed guests.
20 lives per players when your on Live for Co-op. 20 sounds like a lot but they go fast.
I forgot how damn short this game was too. I guess I played way too much of the NES version and it clouded my memory of the arcade version. There seem to be fewer levels than the NES version, and all the levels that are here are significantly shorter...Not that any of this is a bad thing though. For only $6, this still beats the shit out of almost anything released on the Virtual Console so far.
Ok who wants to play co-op
I'm up, but probably not until midnight or so. But I'm up all night anyway so if you're on and you wanna play hit me up.
I'm available for TMNT co-op tonight as well.
Chux and Mzo bailed on our TMNT game for Burning Crusade.
And by Burning Crusade i mean underage vagina.
100% confirmed.
I couldn't play tonight because I was playing with a friend of mine from uni. Tomorrow night though, I'd be glad to join a TNLer game.
Anybody here who is interested in playing some co-op online friend me on Live. It'd be much appreciated as the last couple of games I tried to play were laggy as hell due to a couple of the other guys having bad internet connections.
There were two extra levels on the NES version. Also, the characters were smaller, and you only fought 3 enemies at a time, which made the levels take much longer to complete than the arcade game.
I'm severely tempted to sell some shit so I can get a 360 and TMNT Live. If I didn't already have a non-live version on my regular Xbox, I probably would.
Yeah, and the snow level. :chunobi:
Meh. Yie Ar Kung Fu is kinda neat, but there's no way I'll pay $5 for such a primitive fighter.
Thanks Konami! Out of your vast library, that's the one game I was hoping for!
lol We'll get to Gradius in like 2009.
Gyruss pls.
I think Yie Ar has been available on Japan's XBLA service for a while.
It's getting localized for America's. That's the important part - MS does what Nintendon't.
Added you Perrin, TMNT will be downloaded in a few.

Journey Into the Darkness With “Castlevania: Symphony of Night” on Xbox Live Arcade
Celebrate more than two decades of the Castlevania franchise by reliving (or experiencing for the first time) one of the series’ most highly regarded games. The legendary 2D side-scrolling action adventure game from Konami Digital Entertainment, “Castlevania: Symphony of Night,” will be available for download on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 beginning Wednesday, March 21 at 0900 GMT (2 a.m. PDT).
The Castlevania franchise is well known for delivering exceptional quality in all elements that make a great game – story, music, level design, character development, gameplay and controls. In “Castlevania: Symphony of Night,” the 12th iteration of the series, gamers take on the role of Alucard, the half-vampire son of the blood-drinker Dracula, as he ventures into his infamous father’s foreboding castle. Along the way, Alucard must collect items, weapons and armor to defeat the powerful boss monsters that block access to key areas of the castle.
“Castlevania: Symphony of Night” is the first full console classic to appear on Xbox Live Arcade and offers dozens of hours of non-linear action RPG gameplay. “Castlevania: Symphony of Night” will be available worldwide for 800 Microsoft Points and is rated T for Teen (Animated Blood and Violence).
Game Features
* Play the original version of the game or experience it in enhanced mode with improved graphics and modernized audio and sound effects
* New native widescreen and high-definition support
* Earn up to 12 Achievements and 200 Gamerscore points
More information is available at http://www.xbox.com/games/livearcade.
Sold! Glad I didn't spend the rest of my new point card yet.
Dammit MS. I don't buy shit for months because of the worthless bullshit that was getting released, and now three weeks in a row of fucking awesome. I rather liked not spending money.
If it's more than 400 points, pass.
Wait, it says in the article 800 points. Pass.
Fucking finally.
Fuck, I won't be around to download it.
They added native widescreen support? That's dope.
I own it for PS1. Okay, not really own it but a friend lent it to me a few years back and I still have it.
Oh. Yes. Good show.
By their definition, adding a border = widescreen support.
All the screens I've seen just have a border.
That's true now that I think of it.
Optional pls.
You'll probably be able to stretch the picture out to whatever you please, like most other XBLA games.
I'm so fucking in on SotN.
IBTN!
While we're riding the Xbox Live Arcade good news wagon, Gamespot has Double Dragon listed as a March release. So that might come out the week after Symphony of the Night, since that week is the last week of the month.
I remember an XBLA rep alluding a month or so ago to the possibility of multiple games in a week in the then-coming months. So that's not out of the question.
I can handle that.
I wonder if Double Dragon will be based on the arcade version. It would be nice to get a port of the GBA remake.
How in the hell do you get some of these Turtle achievements? I beat Shredder without getting zapped into a baby turtle and no achievement... aswell I swear I destroyed every sign...
I almost beat that boss without getting flamethrowered but of course at the last second he zaps me :)
I now see a video on youtube of a guy messing up the bosses with a move up and down attack pattern... here is the video:

Yes, it's no the XBA version but still, a handy method
Also Luxor 2 (even though I wouldn't buy it) is listed in the Xbox Live Arcade section on xbox.com and it hasn't been released, maybe they will have multiple releases?
Some of the achievements have to be done in co-op, so get online and play Turtles with me!
I just bought 2000 MS points this week, for Turtles and Heavy Weapon. I have 920 left, so SOTN is a definite. The best part is that Thursday is a local holiday here, so I have the day off from work.
If DD does come out, then I'm going to need more points!
Alien Hominid HD, Worms, Turtles '89, and now SOTN. I wonder if the XBLA awesomeness streak will continue after that.
I almost hope it slows down. I haven't even finished Worms single player yet.
As far as I've witnessed, only two of the achievements can be earned through co-op. The other ten have to be done in a solo-player campaign. I guess it's so one person doesn't beat the shit out of Traag or the Krang robot and get the other three people the achievement or whatever.
Furthermore, if by what g0zen says is true, if you want to earn the Slice and Dice achievement every player has to get 250 points. If you've played a four-player co-op game you know it's impossible to get that so try it with only two players through Live.
So far I have seven of the twelve achievements. I doubt I'll ever get the Traag achievement, though.
Yeah, Traag's a fucking bitch.
It doesn't mean I want them. =O
Finally SOTN Ill be DL'ing this on Wednesday its been a good couple weeks for XBLA.
XBLA is kicking some major ass now. I downloaded Turtles the other day, and I can't wait to download Double Dragon and have the opportunity to play Symphony of the Night for the first time ever :)
Even being a big Nintendo fan boy, its not difficult for me to say that Microsoft is really stepping it up with XBLA lately by offering beefed up versions of games that I actually care about downloading. The Virtual Console store rarely works for me anyways.
Me, Dave, Mzo and Hiro beat turtles, but we got no Achievement. PISSED
There must be some ridiculous stipulation like everyone has to be alive at the end or some shit. TMNT achievements are trash.
I somehow really suck at this Turtles game too. I'm getting my ass kicked left and right.
Bring back the SNES version of Turtles in Time so I can play an easy Turtles game...LOL.
Konami's website claims that SOTN is going to have "Enhanced background visuals that take advantage of the HD graphics capabilities of the Xbox 360" So i wonder if it'll be anything more than the original BGs in HD.
UGH I WISH MS WOULD STOP RELEASING THESE STUPID RETRO GAMES!
Yeah, I fiddled around on the dash for while and fell asleep. :p I'll definitely be on tonight.
I read that the graphical enhancements to SOTN are only to make it look good on HDTVs and aren't upgrades like the older games. That's fine with me, as I think the game's graphics are fine as they are.
Two random notes on the TMNT achievements:
The co-op ones are kind of glitched; they require a public game.
The defeat Shredder achievement is glitched further; you fulfill the stated requirements and not get it. It is possible to get it though; I have seen 2-3 people with the achievement.
That sounds cool and all, but, while not arcade perfect, there is a well done GBA collection that can be found for peanuts that has a very good port of Yie Ar. Yie Ar Kung Fu is also in the Konami Arcade Collection for DS that is coming out very soon.
Does the XBLA version of TMNT have the original music? I heard the music was altered with the versions in TMNT2 Battle Nexus for Xbox/GCN/PS2. I hope that's not the case with the XBLA one.

Unfortunately for the human gene pool, today's announcement changed this dipshit's mind about suicide.
Will it change yours?
Mr. K?
SoTN better fucking be on Japanese Live or heads may roll.
rorru
Got some more TMNT achievements. Should have got Turtle Soup, but it didn't count it, at least I got Traag, Krang and Real Ultimate Power out of the way.
