The Richter achievement won't be so bad. If they just mean beat the game, you can get to Shaft's room in less than 30 minutes if you know which way to go. Use the cross or holy water special a few times and it's over.

I've got 5 achievements on TMNT now, last night I got the flamethrower one and the destroy all signs one (I didn't do anything different from my last runs, it just unlocked randomly... :S)
How are you guys defeating bosses without losing health? I try but damn I can only beat the first 2 bosses almost perfect, actually Rocksteady still gives me problems but the 2nd boss (Bebop) is simple. I can't imagine beating Krang's robot without losing health. Any tips?
Up, smack, down, smack, repeat.
I guess I just gotta practice, Krang kicks me when I try to hit him
Krang is easy as fuck to beat. It's Traag that's a pain in the balls.
Oh, in case you guys didn't figure it out already, the Turtle Soup achievement is glitched out. It's essentially random whether or not you'll get it, even if you do beat Shredhead without getting turned.
You can beat Krang without even getting hit. Use Donatello and hit him with the tip of the bo. Move back a little bit to avoid getting kicked and then hit him again. When you run out of real estate, do a quick jumpkick to the other side and repeat.
You can beat Traag in the same manner, but it's a lot trickier since there's not a lot of room to maneuver. I usually jump around until I can get position of the lower right of the screen, since it extends out the farthest.
Playing with bahn last night, he just stayed in the lower left corner and swung away. I stayed behind Traag (about an inch or so on the screen), and he never touched us.
I want TMNT GamerPics.
Josh has one. I wonder how he got it. Is it possible to upload your own GamerPics?
If you have the camera, your friends can see a picture you take with that. It wouldn't show up on TNL though. If you go on your 360, you can see my Yoshi pic, but it doesn't show here.
We're supposed to be getting pics and themes along with Symphony IIRC. Drac > Turtles.
Plus, if they DID give us TMNT pics, they'd probably be from the movie. :-/
It looks like I wont be getting SOTN this Wednesday because my 360 just died. This is the only system to ever fucking die on me.
I'm still confused about the boss achievements... do I have to complete the level AND the boss without losing 10 percent health, or is it once the boss fight starts, THEN the 10 percent is calculated off?
I don't think I can get through any level minus the first without dying at least once.
Just beat the boss and you'll get it after he bites the dust.
It shows the retard Don pic as your gamerpic.
I've been using the same gamerpic for, like, a year. Its from Hexic.
But I did just notice something while looking at mygamercard.net profile thing. I'm listed as #1 in the world in Galaga. This can not be right.
Yeah, I've heard all the stories of launch systems dropping like flies. I was hoping I was one of the lucky ones and got a system that would prove that theory wrong...I guess not. Now both of my warranty's have expired (store and Microsoft) and Microsoft customer service wants me to pay $140 to fix it. Which really means "we will send you a refurbished unit that will break in four months and you will have to pay again to get another refurbished one". Screw that.
If I can I'll probably just pick up a new one on payday and if that one dies Microsoft loses a customer.
My 360 crapped out about 2 weeks ago, like I mentioned in the other 360 thread. Turns out it works fine if I make it stand vertically for a couple of minutes. Discs that just before were read as "unplayable" are suddenly working fine, even after I put it back horizontal.
Anyone have any idea why that would happen?
Laser might be having some trouble reading the boot-up sequence. I don't know too much about how they encode that sector into videogame discs so that's just a random guess, but I would imagine your laser is slightly off. With my modded PS2 it eventually had the same issue (could rarely boot games but once one started up there was no problem) until I took it apart and adjusted the laser. Not that I recommend doing that with a 360, mind you.
lol
That makes much more sense.
Sadly, mine was nowhere near a launch unit. I got it last September, serial # said it was manufactured in the spring. The refurb they sent me was actually made in 2007, and it was messed up from the get-go.
If you're going to get a new one, at least wait for the Zephyr units. Maybe they'll have some kinks ironed out in those. And you should either buy it at a place like Costco that allows straight replacements, or spend the money on a service plan for another place that does. The MS warranty just feels like a waste of time, since it's a coin flip whether you get something back that's reliable.Quote:

SOTN downloading......
Edit: Xbox Live has crashed (I was at 96% too...)
The music doesn't sound as good.
Meh, maybe it's my tv.
Also I can't do any of the spells because of this shitty ass D-pad. :( :(
Doing the Sword Brothers one was tough enough on the plain old Playstation controllers. What a pain.
The sound is a little tinny compared to the original but considering the whole thing is under 100 megs it's impressive. I need to find a 360 controller with a decent D-pad now....
I'm just glad to finally have SoTN on XBLA.
Yeah, Hori makes 'em. But they have shitty analog triggers and sticks, go figure.Quote:
Is there such a thing?
So I'm just 200 MS points short. I know at least a few of you have them from the Old Spice Challenge; if you don't need them I'd like to buy them from you. I'll send $2 by PayPal.
How the fuck can you send 200 ms points.
This game finally came out, but it came out at the same time I started Dawn of Sorrow on my DS. Eh, I'll still buy it to support these games on the XBLA service.
I have 600 points and need 200 more for SotN. :( I'd assume that the 200 points awarded to level three participants in the Old Spice Challenge was distributed in code form, like the gamerpic/Contra. I just don't really want to use my credit card to buy points because of the recent fraud reports.
You could always just go buy a card with cash.
Have a long day at work, so coming home to this will be sweet relief. I'll probably finish the whole damn thing in a single sitting.
Oh yeah, I wonder if this game recognizes second playthroughs, like having to beat the game once in order to play as Richter or get the Rings of Varda from the gold skeletons instead of Gold Rings.
I don't get why you guys are making such a big deal out of this. If nobody has a spare 200 point code then yeah I'll just go buy a 1600 point card, but I'd prefer to just get the 200 points I need.
You cant transfer that shit, jackass. It's linked to live accounts.
lol
We'd all prefer to just get as many points as we need. I had 200 points in my account so I had to buy 1000 points just to get the 800 for SOTN. It's this way on purpose so we all buy extra points. The thing is streamlined for maximum wallet rape; you don't even have to enter in a password after the first time to order more points. Give up the cash, at least we're getting great games.
I just get $20 or $30 whenever I need some. I'll use 'em all eventually, why split it up into more payments in smaller increments?
That's less money making money for you and more money making money for Microsoft. Now while the missing $10 or $20 bucks for a person will not matter a whole lot, adding that up over hundreds of thousands of users represents a small but notable profit for Microsoft.
You have no reason to give them that much money, why do so?
Because going through marketplace to add funds once is more convenient than doing it three or four times.
Where did the shitty CG castle go?? :(
SOTN XBLA is pretty neat so far though I'm already wondering why I bought it since I own the PS1 and Saturn versions.
I'm digging it though, the "enhanced" look keeps the game from looking like a pixelated shitfest and there's no slowdown when the HP up item appears after defeating a boss. That in itself is worth 800 points...(nevermind)
Oh and trouble with TMNT?
http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...&search=Search
Some guy beats the game on one life(Split into five parts). He used Donatello of course because Don is god-tier.
FWIW the last game of TMNT I played I used Don and was able to beat Tragg, Krang, and the other Robot without losing a life(okay maybe I lost one..or two..). It's kind of discouraging to play TMNT though when 90% of the time I'm the only one alive beating the game.
So, I'm thinking about downloading Symphony of the Night on XBLA...but I've never played the game before. However, I have played "Circle of the Moon", "Harmony of Dissonance", "Aria of Sorrow", and "Portrait of Ruin." The problem I have is that, besides "Portrait of Ruin", I got bored of all of these games and pretty much quit playing at about 3/4 of the way through them.
Since most of you have played Symphony of the Night when it was first released, do you think its still better than all the DS/GBA Castlevanias? Would this be worth downloading? OR, does it tend to become repetitive and slightly boring like the GBA titles?
Seriously, stop wasting time on this forum and go download it.
I didn't still own it. I have very, very few PS1 games at this point.
BTW folks, apparently for some reason Konami made Monoaural sound the default setting in SotN. Go in and set it to Stereo, should make a noticable difference.
I see a patch coming already.
Oh, you've entered the wrong thread. Let me direct you to the one you were supposed to post in: http://www.the-nextlevel.com/board/s...ad.php?t=45559
It's much better than all the GBA Castlevanias. I liked Dawn of Sorrow quite a bit; I'd say SOTN is up there with that. I haven't played POR enough to rank it. I'd say download SOTN; it is an all-time classic game and this is the best way we're ever going to get to play it.
What's next week's game?
Catan?
or Double Dragon? Either way, it will make March the greatest month of XBLA releases ever.
I've played neither. I hope they're decent.
Luxor 2 or Catan.
Or nothing.
All my major wants have been released in the last four weeks. The VC may get some love for a bit now.
Usually when I eat a good steak I want more steak or a nice dessert. Not Vienna Sausages and ramen.
I've never played Catan, so I'll DL the demo to see if I like it, but I'm definitely all over DD if it hits this week or the next.
Live Arcade is really awesome this month. I hope it continues into April.
SOTN is so good. Maybe my favorite game ever. Of course, the other two games that might be my favorite game ever are Tekken Tag and Firepro DC, so take that as you will.
man, I can't wait to get my 360 live again. I still haven't got worms or TMNT, let alone SOTN.
I've never played a castlevania game so this should be fun.
Comments like that make me feel old.
just avoided them somehow.
Not confirmed, but it's looking like next week's release is Gyruss.
I like gyruss.
Fuck shitty old games.
There's good classic coin-ops like TMNT and then there's all the shit only Korly gets excited about. I don't want anymore of the shit only Korly likes.
Gyruss > TMNT
There's not many arcade games I'd be happy to see on Live Arcade, but Gyruss is one of them. This should make for some great score runs.
James
I don't like Gyruss. :(
Chux knows where it's at.
He's got two turntables and a microphone.
HIGH FIVE, MORE DEAD THAN ALIVE!
