Sketching at Work

Right now I'm going through 6 weeks of training at some shitty tech support job. The pace is the class is absurdly slow, so I spend a lot of my downtime sketching. Going through the tattered OfficeMax brand notepad they give us, I picked out some of my favorites.

I cleaned them up a bit, since the paper had blue lines on it and was usually all wrinkled from wear, and had actual (gasp!) notes around all the drawings. Any of the sketches that have two vertical lines through them were drawn over the red lines on the pad.

Half or so were drawn with the cheap-o blue Bic pen they give us, the rest with mechanical pencil.

UPDATE: Well, I finally quit that job. It was the tuberculosis outbreak that finally pushed me over the edge. Couldn't sketch so much as soon as I got on the lines, but here's what I salvaged from my illustrious stay there.

nice. i'd like to see it, wrinkles and notes intact, tho. I've been doing the same on my breaks. Get a big fat sharpie, put my headphones on, and let the 30 minutes slip by. I'll scan some one of these days.

No, my formatting's right, and on other computers (and sometimes mine) the [simg] shows up right, so probably something on my browser's end.

Anyhow, thanks for the compliments guys. I added another page. Trust me I fully plan on quitting this job soon, but the bills were piling up and nothing was coming in.

Fury if you seriously put out like a small collection of color prints, like 10-15, in a small book and sell it, I would buy the shit out of it.

I'm semi-jealous cause my one crutch is I can never draw a woman correct. Its my flaw. I need to post my drawings. But FuryFox should be a professional and working at some art house gaming company.

When I'm rich I'll hook you up with work FuryFox. Until then you're on your own. Really great stuff, as usual. Do you have any stuff that isn't, like, just a single hero figure or something? I mean like maybe a huge monster or just a couple of drawings of ships or architecture?

Happened again. When you edited it and added the fourth picture the [url] tags reappeared on all the thumbnails. Quit trying to take control of the internet with your mind.

I like the way you draw women. There is a certain bit of awkwardness to each of them even when you draw them as strong and/or sexy.

I think that adds a bit of realism to them as real people are a little awkward.

A lot of comic artist do there best to make their characters look like demigods and flawless. I like that you don't take it that far and give them a little bit for humanity than others.

I don't think you read comics, or you'd understand what I'm talking about. Comic women are typically flawless. Every muscle is in great shape, no body fat, no sign of doubte can be seen on their faces. Real women are not like that.

Each of the women that fury has drawn has a realistic looking flaw to them. They do not look like arch types of the female form.

How am I an ass exactly? He offered to do a sketch, I later asked if he had ended up doing anything for it, he said he had a rough sketch, and I said I wanted to see it, because I was curious. If he ended up doing something, I want to see it, and I'm going to bug him until I do. Nowhere have I said "get working on finishing that art asshole" or anything like that.
