Yu-Gi-Oh: World Championship 2007 [-Official-]

I used to be a big fan of CCG and the game is coming out this month supposedly. Here's what I know so far:

- Online Duels (duh)
- Updated Leaderboards broken down by country (or maybe region) on Nintendos Wi-Fi website.
- Downloadable "ghosts" from the worlds top players.
- Voice Chat (only with friends)
- Over 1500 cards
- A downloadable "ban list" of banned/broken/limited cards.

So from just that the perfect game for a fan of the actual CCG not the anime, and if you're not into it this would be the game to start with.

I've heard about this but I'll believe the awesomeness when I see it. Nintendo needs to hold sanctioned online tournaments for this. I may pick it up in the next few weeks.

Between this and the new Pokemon games coming out, I feel nostalgic.

this sounds pretty damn cool. 2006 was really great with all the challenges/duel puzzles and amount of cards that were available. i can't remember the exact number, but it seems like the 2007 version has less cards. will there be a password feature to enter cards you have in real life?

The password feature is there. You can also trade cards and deck recipes with Spirit Caller if you have it.

what do you mean? do you have to aquire a certain card before you can trade deck recipes or do you mean something else?

Spirit caller as in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller for the DS. If you had that version of YGO, you can send your cards and deck recipes over from that game to this game. Another added bonus is that once you link up with Spirit Caller.you will also unlock some character AI from Spirit Caller into YGO 2007 and you'll get the Red Uniform and Academy Duel Disk.

...hmmm...this is starting to sound less appealing. is this gonna be one of those "walk around and talk to people" ygo games, or just straight up "dueling" kind like eternal duelist soul or 2006? i try to avoid the walk around/rpg style ones. they never seem to be that good. there's usually fewer cards and....more bs.

Straight up dueling. No story mode. Pick an opponent and play. I was just saying that you can link up to an older version of the game and get extra bonuse AI opponents and accessories (or your old cards if you don't wanna re-earn all of them again). It's more like a gift to people that bought the past DS YGOs. The uniforms and duel disks are mainly to dress up your avatar for online play. I think it'll be right up your alley.

This look awesome. And I'm saying this as a hater of card games gone online. The whole thing will turn on the online interface, if random people drop constantly(and the match is nulled) or have non-random rated matches with new accounts, it'll suck online.
If this is really polished, I'm totally in.
Required:
Drops = loss for dropper - Confirmed
Low chars cannot give higher chars rating by constantly matching against the same guy to artificially raise his rank. - Confirmed
Random Rated Matches Only. - I think
Easy to manage friends list.
Chat with anyone online, not just friends - Denied, and only with friends before and after matches, no shittalking random people. This makes me sad.
Mute button for those who abuse above. - Friends only chat
Animation off as a default. - Doesn't need it, gameplay is fast offline at least.

Also turns out the JP release includes the English version, w/o censorship. Import yay, out now, $20 more expensive :/ waiting 3-4 days.

Downloadable banlist sounds almost too good to be true. I've always wanted a YGO games to have custom ban lists that you could use in multiplayer, just to fuck around.

I didn't know it was out in the states yet...Mikhal said it got pushed back if its out though i should have it by the end of next week. :( I'm so broke. fucking payroll.

No card fighters DS got pushed back to april. Wal-mart was breaking the street date on it as they recieved their shipments early. Should be out nationally today.

Marskitten, are you earning the cards the "legit" way or did you transfer your cards from Spirit Caller to 2007? Thinking about whether I should start from scratch or just transferring my deck and going straight to wifi...

I'll be starting from scratch cause i dont have SC, so itll take a while for me to be competent online. :( I really wanna know what you guys think i'll take your word over thos gamefaqs wierdos anyday.

This is my first YGO game. I got hooked on the puzzle mode from my little cousin (same one who bought me a DS for graduation). I think the little bastard had this planned form teh begining.

Also the online is pretty smooth, played about 20 matches so far and no droppers, due to the harsh drop penalty a drop is worth about 5 losses, plus they get no performance bonus. Played a few Jps and Koreans, the matches felt a little slower but there's a timer to keep people from sandbagging excessively.

Also I'm getting my ass kicked. I'm such a noob.

Unfortunately I sold my SC to someone way before I knew about deck transferring. Meh, oh well.

Is there anyway to transfer cards that you actually have like a deck that I use in real life?

genki - in previous games, that's what the password feature was for. i think mikhal mentioned there being one. not sure if you need points or whatever to use the passwords.

You need to have a copy of the card in game already but can get mutliples with the password feature, it costs points tho

Damn...Is the story mode playable atleast?

There's no story mode to play in 2007. You just pick who you want to battle with in the menu. The CPU is tougher than the ones in Spirit Caller, so that's good.

It's limited to only 1, so you might want to find some Messenger of Peace or something (Scarlet Firestorm booster) depending on the kind of deck you want to make. What kind of deck are you trying to run? I can give you some stuff to help you out.

Easiest to get cards is to go on wifi and download the ghost data of Marshall. It's some guy that cheated his way to #1 online. Everytime you beat his ghost, you get 3000+ DP to get cards for.

Cool i get off work around 5:30 so anytime after that i'll be able to get online.

I'm trying to recreate my old gravity bind deck that i used IRL. It got me pretty far I never met anyone i couldn't atleast beat once, but that was back when Gravity Bind wasn't limited to just 1 though so i'm gonna have to work around that. The deck itself is a high defense stall deck its only purpose is to get the oponents strongest monsters on the field gravity bind 'em then use Relinquished, take their strongest guy and use it as my own (since relinquished is level 1 and can attack around GB :p ). And if you dont feel like letting me have your strongest monster I'll make sacrifice for Lava Golem (which I need too btw lol) and take that instead. I know its simple but it works and its the first deck I came up with myself. It's probably outdated by now though lol.

Yeah I beat that Marshall guys ghost last night how'd u get 3000+ Dp i only got around 900...

See attachments. It's nothing special for competitive play but it's a nice little fun deck on the side. There's even newer Gradius cards, but I have yet to see them in 2007, so they're probably not there. Maybe in the next Yugioh game. I love it when Konami tosses in random cards for their fans.

Airknight is the shit, but you can't sleep on gradius. I won on the 2nd turn against my friend with one. Change of heart + gradius with 2 options + united we stand = game.

The Victory Viper cards are a lot better than the old Gradius ones, since you don't have to waste room in your deck for the Options. Run Curse of Anubis to make their defense 0, rush with VC, summon token, rush again.

Makes me want to throw together my old VC deck, I hope those cards are in here.

I added your FC on the front page me Mikhal are in a duel right now (and he's good).

An easy way to get up to snuff is to download Marshalls ghost data and kill it, it got me and easy 1900 DP every time i beat it. Just make sure to load your deck up with anti machine cards.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing now. I haven't even gotten to the second level of opponents yet and my friends are gonna wonder how I got all this stuff.

Damn i think my router keeps crapping out on me...I think the game froze on that last one...

I'm gonna check my router i keep getting communication errors...

Alright i give up i was playing against random people earlier today and it wasn't dropping like that maybe it'll work better later tonight.

A good amount of probably has to do with completion percentage (challenges, card collection, etc).

Also, Marskitten and I had the most epic battle earlier tonight. Down to the friggin wire! Sadly, I lost at the end. :(

I picked up the game. That starter deck they give you is garbage, but i guess I'll manage after a while.

I downloaded this one person named Jefferson's ghost. his rating was like 3700-something, and his entire deck is entirely tribute monsters. CPU does nothing but end its turn. Really easy 500 DP a match.
