Sierra has announced that No Doubt, fresh from the sold-out North American tour, will contribute their talents to Malice, the new title coming to Xbox™ and PlayStation 2® this fall. Gwen Stefani will provide the voice of the hammer-wielding heroine, Malice, while band mates Tony Kanal (bass), Tom Dumont (guitar) and Adrian Young (drums) provide the voice for other characters in the game. Malice will feature several of the band's songs, with remixes to suit the game's unique universe.

"Being a band that grew up in the video game generation, the fusing of video games and music is exciting to us," said Tony. "To be involved with a game during its creative development was a cool opportunity so we jumped at the chance to be part of Malice."

As long as she doesn't sing in the game, I think she'll do just fine.

Fuck! I just read the thing a little closer. I HATE licensed music in anything other than extreme sports and racing games. Why the hell can't we get ORGINAL soundtracks in games like Malice? If I have to listen to fucking singing during a game like this, I just won't buy it.

Now that gaming is mainstream, I'm afraid we're gonna see more and more of this kind of thing. I mean, Rez's soundtrack is one thing, but now this....with voice talentto boot? *shudder*

What's next, Chris Tucker doing the voice of Kirby? Yeek.

I don't like No doubt, and I this seems like a stupid idea, but I have confidence in Argonaut and I'm still looking forward to seeing how the game comes out.

And Haley Joel "I see dead people" Osment is doing Sora for Kingdom Hearts?! WTF?!

I'd like for my video game characters to have their own voices. Not some jack-ass super-star's. I prefer no-faced, never-been-heard voice actors. It makes the character's voice that much more their own.
