 Oh shit that's true, too. Sorry Rich, I take it back. Enjoy it while it lasts, James Dolan is coming for your team!

I don't think any Mets fan thinks of Pedro as a savior. I really don't have any expectations when it comes to Pedro's first start or the rest of his season. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets destroyed in the Great American Bandbox. If he does well enough then I'll be happy.
Mets with a nice win today in that damn Cincy bandbox. Pedro pitches 5 innings with a couple of K's, gave up 3 hits and 3 runs (2 earned). He was alright all things considering. Nice of them to beat up on Hudson, Smoltz and now Harang.
I hadn't realized what happened to Juan Encarnación the other day. What a sad story for the Cardinals this year. His career is likely over.
"Clemens fell to 6-6 with a 4.45 ERA in 16 starts this season."
and the Yanks announced after tonights game that he's going to get an MRI on his elbow. And he's making $17 million this year.
LOL
I'd laugh, too, but my team is paying Barry Zito $126 million.
:(
I think the O's bullpen is making like $5 - oh wait, that's what they're worth - on a good day.
Right now, their worthless. I think the O's should try and see how many blown games they can lose during the remainder of the season. What is it - 12 losses in 13 games AFTER they announce Trembley as their manager?
Way to go guys... Way. To. Go.
The O's spend $42 million on their bullpen this offseason. I have the figure committed to memory because it's brought up every time the Red Sox shred them.
It was only a matter of time before someone pulled out the salary card. Every team in baseball is making assloads of money right now, business is good. The Yankees lost money the past few years with their $200 million payrolls and in the process proved that big money does not mean winning. That's why they've done a complete 180 and started bringing up as many kids as possible (and as a result it's never been more fun to watch the team play).
For all the bitching about only the Yankees and Red Sox having a shot everyone forgets just how much parity there is in baseball. Last year Toronto finished ahead of Boston and this year the wild card is there for the taking. The Yankees were dead and buried at the All Star break and made no big trades to improve themselves. They brought up a bunch of kids instead, kids like Joba Chamberlain that most of the other teams in baseball passed on before the Yankees got a chance to get them. Hungry young players are what leads to championships in today's game and most teams get to draft before New York or Boston every year.
