I never said it was only the kids, I said the kids were the biggest factor. You seem to be obsessed with focusing on the other players and that's fine, but there is no turnaround if Cabrera doesn't catch fire hitting leadoff in Damon's place (I'm not sure why you're even including him in your argument) while playing some of the best center field defense in baseball or if Cano doesn't return to 2006 form and put some punch in the back of the lineup while providing enough depth to give Abreu the protection to get back on track. A-Rod, Posada, and Matsui were great all year for the most part. Damon and Abreu were the automatic outs in the first half; Cabrera replaced Damon outright and Cano has picked up Abreu's slack (Cano got hot first, has been far more consistent, and gives Abreu protection).
Then there's the off the field element; the veterans on the team credit Cano and Cabrera with making the clubhouse fun and relaxed as opposed to the tense corporate atmosphere of 2002-2005. This is a different Yankee team than any we've seen since 1996 in terms of chemistry and that's because of Cano and Cabrera.
