It couldn't be that Torre called out Sheffield for being a whiny prick that wasn't hitting, it had to be because he was black. Forget that Sheffield's uncle Doc is currently getting chance # 65 to get his life under control from the Yankees...

Look if there was no sentimentality involved for him, then he should just opt out. Its guaranteed that fucker is gonna get at least a 35 million to 40 million a year contract if he does. Makes perfect sense.
If I'm A-Rod, I opt out, no doubt about it, what has NY done for him? Fuck the Yankees, I'll bet he ends up in San Francisco for 200 million/4 years.
Breaking news: The Met's are tanking.
The Dodgers have the best record in the National League at the moment...that is until Brett Tomko starts today and gives up 10 runs in the first inning...
Even if he does the Giants will find a way to lose.

Reading that makes me physically ill. I can't wait until he trades Lincecum and Fred Lewis for a utility infielder the day of the deadline.
For Arod, the smartest thing to do is extend his contract. The Texans will still pay a decent chunk of it if it's extended, so the Yankees can potentially offer him more if he's extended.
If he doesn't opt out, he only gets what the contract says he gets. Opting out lets the Yankees offer more knowing Texas will still have to pay some.
I'm a Dodger fan, and reading that even makes me sick. Sure, the Giants are 10 games back...but theres 80 something games left to play still...anything can happen.
How is that Fred Lewis kid too? I've never heard of him. Is he supposed to be a really good prospect?
