So, did anybody see the Dodgers vs. Mets game tonight? Grady Little made quite possibly the MOST BRILLIANT move I have ever seen any manager make in my 20+ years of watching Dodgers baseball:
The Dodgers have the bases loaded with one out, and they are down by four runs in the 8th inning. James Loney is coming to the plate and he has been facing the LEFTY Oliver Perez all night. The Mets bring in another Left Handed reliever (I can't remember who it was because I'm so stunned right now) and at this moment Grady Little decided it will be good to play Lefty/Righty percentages...so he brings in Ramon Martinez to pinch hit for James Loney!!
WHAT THE FUCK!!! Seriously, I have seen this retard of a manager do some really stupid shit on an almost daily basis the last two years...and I RARELY bitch about it. This move though was just the last straw in a long string of bonehead shit he has been doing all year long. Little sure the hell is a nice guy, but I really don't want to see him managing the Dodgers next year. I just want to puke right now. Loney is a player that can drive the ball to the gaps and score some runs. Ramon Martinez hit weak dribblers for double plays...and occasionally he will hit a ground ball that finds a hole into the outfield. Just look at these numbers though...the percentages just don't make sense for this move to take place:
James Loney has a .311 BA
Ramon Martinez has a .190 BA
James Loney is batting .382 vs Lefties
Ramon Martines is batting .239 vs Lefties
I was watching the game thinking, "Oh good Loney is coming up!" Then all of a sudden I see Ramon Martinez on my television sreen and I'm screaming "WHAT THE FUCK LITTLE!?!" Of course Martinez ended up hitting a weak grounder to the first baseman. Is anybody else just overly frustrated with this mentally challenged Dodger manager. I know Mets fans aren't frustrated, because Grady handed them the win tonight.

If the Dodgers would play there young players they would be win a lot more ball games. Ethier, Loney, Martin, and Kemp are the future of this team. Actually, he plays Russell Martin TOO MUCH. This kid has played in over 95% of our games played so far. We're paying Mike Lieberthal a cool million+ to start 11 games so far this year. Its ridiculous.
Tomorrow is a day game after a night game...and I garauntee you Martin will still be in the lineup....but Little will probably take out four other regular players...and at this point I wouldn't be surprised if Little batted Olmedo Saenz in the lead off spot.
