Woman injured in shooting at CNN Center
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A gunman shot a woman Tuesday at Atlanta's CNN Center complex. A witness who is a CNN employee saw a male shoot a black female twice near the Omni Hotel, which is part of CNN Center.
Police have a suspect in custody. The condition of the woman is unknown.
"I heard a loud bang and thought it strange that it was much louder than the normal loud noises we hear in the newsroom,' said the witness, writer Brad Lendon. "I walked around my desk to look through the glass doors."
I saw a woman on the ground next to a potted plant. A black man stood over her and fired at least two shots into her. After the shots, he looked around, his head turning in my direction. I don't know if he saw me, but at that moment the gravity of what I'd witnessed hit me. I turned away and tried to find the safest way I could out of the CNN.com newsroom."
The CNN.com newsroom, which is near the Omni, was evacuated.
