So here I am, gazing into Burgundy's latest avatar, and I've come to the conclusion that I really do not like the Xbox's logo. Compared to some from the past, it does not stack up. And with that, I ask you, what are some of your favorite console logos?
I've always been partial to these:
I kind of like the DC swirl, but think all console logos look kind of bad to awful.
Except the GC. The GC logo is damned cool.
I really liked the Genesis logo until I started seeing it as a sombrero, and it just... hasn't held the same feeling since. ;)

Neo Geo
And now that I see it posted there, the GameCube's logo rocks too. Nintendo is good at logos.
The Atari logo is the best. :evil:

I like the super famicom logo. the colored spline blobs on black. . . I don't have a pic.
I think the Playstation logo is a very good one. I think Sony was smart in the way they continued using it as a part of their Playstation 2 design. So it's my favourite.
The N64 and Gamecube ones are also neat in the way they are all 3D and such.
I think the Dreamcast one looks like an oven burner or whatever they are called...you know that thing you put the pot on to make it hot. Yes, I'm a cooking expert. ;) The european blue logo was much better, in my opinion.
And now that Rob mentioned it, the Genesis logo is a freakin' sombrero. So that one is ruined for me now.
Oh, and I think the American Saturn logo is FAR superior to the Japanese one.
And to continue on with my random ramblings here, the Jaguar logo was quite impressive. The red and black was a nice colour combo.

Atari is a company, not a console.. so I didn't include it.
The Vectrex logo just worked for me...
But the Atari Logo is by far the coolest. The Lynx and Jag had neat logos too. I loved the Saturn logo, but the DC swirl alaways seemed goofy to me.
The Dreamcast logo had an primitive, organic vibe to it, reminiscent of Neolithic art, but it somehow didn't do it for me. It's still better than the other next-gen system logo's though.
The PS2 is the absolute worst.
My all time fave is the Japanese Saturn Logo. Somebody wanna dig up a good pic?

I really love everything about the Japanese Saturn, especially compared to the North American experience.
1, The logo is truly fantastic and nice looking.
2, The console looks absolutely beautiful in white, whereas in black it looks quite bland and generic.
3, The games came in nice regular jewelcases, not those suitcase sized ones.
4, So many more great games, such as Grandia.

PC counts too ya know. I like the Atari one as well, Master System never had a logo... except for the trade mark "Sega" so that one was nice too. The European Megadrive logo was most keen.

Well, I like PSX and Cube logos the best. Both are pretty cool and unique in their presentation, and inclusion of the system name into the image.
I also like Neo Geo, and the Future is Now slogan :)

The absolute best are Cube, Saturn, and Atari.
Honorable mention goes to Neo Geo (The round dot with the faces), Super Famicom, and Dreamcast

Oh well. A lot of people do like it. I must not be the target demographic. :p I don't have anything against Xbox. I'll probably get one.... eventually, not enough games appeal to me yet though. :)

I wouldn't mind the Xbox logo so much if Microsoft had chosen some better colors. The Neon Green is very early 90's, and looks outdated. While the Gamecube and PS2 logos are very futuristic. I like the GameCubes the best though, very original and pleasing. You can tell that people worked on that for quite a while. Its a G, and a Cube at the same time, but neither are really obvious. While the Xbox one is just an X, and thats it.

It's one of my favourite consoles of all time, but I never liked the name "Genesis". Mega Drive was soooooooooo much cooler. It's a shame they couldn't use it in all regions.
