With the number of people buying VGA cables for their 360s, you could make a case that this has already happened. Seriously, what is the difference between a 360 or PS3 and a PC?

What makes him so clueless? I'm sure he knows much more about the industry than anybody here. He's been working in the industry for over 10 years, he's actually been involved in the game development process.
What he's saying is certainly a possibility. I didn't read the interview so I don't know if he's thinking that it's likely to happen soon but it's definitely something that could happen sometime in the future.
If you look at the current systems, they're all based on technology by the same companies. This technology is also going into home computers. There's no reason why there couldn't be a single box that puts everything into one in the future. As as Denis Dyack hypothesized, in the future there will be so much bandwidth that we might not even have to have a local machine running the software.
Yes, you can argue day and night about Sony or Microsoft not wanting to give up royalties and shit but when it comes down to it, it's the developers that are in control.
