*EXPLOSION!*
The smart thing would have been to check animation tweaks before coloring and shading.
So when Andy does his TNL Game of the Month poll for the month this game comes out, should this game qualify? Some would argue 'no' because it is a remake of Super Turbo, but I would argue 'yes' because the Remixed Mode changes the game enough to make it the sixth installment of SF2.
Puzzle Fighter qualified last August, so I don't see why not.
You know, with that correctly matched-up GIF, I can see where Yeller and cigs are coming from. Yes, they're restricted to the exact poses and silhouettes of the original, but the animation of the details are very sloppy. The shading shifts like a schizophrenic hummingbird. There's absolutely no consistency to the movement of the tears on Ryu's gi. The abrupt elbow movement is... odd. Maybe the guy who captured the images skipped a few frames though. Y'never know.
Honestly, some Photoshop work could clear it up a few of the quirks in a day. I hope they do it. And the art really isn't bad at all.
But, when it comes down to it, the game looks to play fantastic (if you're into SFII). I'll probably get it just to play multiplayer even though I suck at SFII and will probably lose every round. Still worth the money.
Wouldn't it look like complete and utter shit in HD?
It looks fine on my computer monitor, so I don't see why it would look awful on an hdtv.
I agree, and maybe they shouldn't have put them on this as their first project, but the animation seems to have personally insulted cigs and that's what I find so extreme about it. Not to mention, yeah they're still tweaking shit.Quote:
