Is the PS3's Cell chip really that much more powerful than the 360? Factor 5 President Julian Eggebrecht believes so; it's just a matter of optimizing for the PS3, he says. And while he thinks the Cell is limitless, he had some interesting observations about the limits of Epic's Unreal Engine, which he compared to the engine they're using in Lair.

If this was coming from any other company, I wouldn't take it that serious.
Factor 5 did things with the Gamecube, that no other developer could. Rogue Squadron II, is probably the best looking game on the GC, with Metroid Prime a very close second.
RSII sold me on Gamecube and I'm pretty sure Lair will do the same for the PS3.
Why are they comparing GoW to Lair? Its two different games?
That's what I wonder about. They do some amazing stuff, but on the flip side is it a one-shot blown wad like KCEJ on the PS2?Quote:

Not the only but it started off as that. IIRC it was a car physics demo they were working on when they decided to flesh it out into a full game, but I can't seem to find any interviews to back up my memory. Later on Renderware was also one of the main reasons EA purchased them, which did cause a number of companies that used the software to drop support (and subsequently EA pulled new contracts for Renderware) but EA also began using it a lot more internally.Quote:
