In jewelry's defense, it really is an investment. A car depreciates the moment you sign on the dotted line, jewelry will stay pretty constant and possibly even go up in value.

Seriously. Unless it's a genuine 1840's Tiffany and Co. presidents' wifes' diamond, who buys used nice jewelry? Pawn shop?
