Anyone stupid enough to buy the thing in the first place, when it had no games to play, isn't worth caring about imo.

They couldn't and never would. Nobody from Sony is calling it anything at this point. A "Sony insider" talked about a new iteration of the PS3 apparently, but they don't even directly quote this nebulous person as saying "PS4." Just a lame spin on a story to try to make it much more interesting than it actually is.

I remember this, too. People swearing they were up to Mario 9 or whatever in Japan. I wonder if it all stems from one rumour that spread out amongst videogame playing kids across the whole country.
