This got some pretty bad reviews. I wish I still cared about the series but it hasn't been good for a long time.
i care about the series, but this game has taken some reviewing knocks that seem fairly consistent. those kind of knocks tend to be true.
I loved the first and third, but god damn did they fuck this up from 32 bit on... :cry:
After Children of Mana, I'm not so sure I want to go anywhere near anything Seiken Densetsu ever again.
Since Square is so hell bent on giving us ports and remakes on handheld, just give us the SNES titles and be done with the series.
Seriously, I don't even want a remake - I just want SD3 on the DS in English.
I'd buy that day one.

This game isn't bad. I want to say it's good, but the reviews make me think there's something wrong with me. Serious. For serious. Everyone rent it, there's a conspiracy or something here. Kingdom Hearts is poison. This is candy.
That Kingdom Hearts isn't universally shit on and this is makes everyone who likes Kingdom Hearts and dislikes this a big. fat. liar. cat. It plays a lot like KH, but not stupid. Levels are set up so you sent shit down ramps and shit and it builds up and knocks shit around and enemies flip out and go nuts and you can shit on them. It's really creative stuff. TOO CREATIVE FOR THAT FUCKING KINGDOM HEARTS CAMERA. So far, that's the only thing bad about it. It's just way too close to get a good look at what's around you. A lot of the time you're ignoring the creative layout just to get to the yellow dot on the radar, swinging at enemies you can't see because it's a pain in the ass to control the stupid fucking camera.
Besides that, the game's just too beautiful for PS2. It needs to be widescreen, 1080p, all that shit. It's as impressive Kingdom Hearts 2 except without big horribly empty worlds. There's stuff to do, enemies hiding everywhere. Not just stupid things that appear from thin air, but Mushbooms hiding in the ground, those bird things flying everywhere and rabbites... appearing from thin air.
Also, this game piles on the nostalgia. If you love the original Seiken Densetsu, the opening bits of this game will rip your heart out.
i am really impressed and surprised so far. Unless it falls apart later, it's a pretty good game packed with lots of love. i would love it if people would give it a try and love it more if people like it. don't buy it right now, maybe i'm just stupid, just rent it or borrow it or steal it. Buy it if you like it. Pls. for me.
