Blizzard updated their website with a splash page like they do before they announce new games. Something new is definitely going to be announced within the week. I'm betting on Starcraft 2 even though I'd much rather have a Warcraft 4 or a brand new IP all together.

We've known there was an announcement of a new game coming for a while now.
Starcraft MMO FTL.
A lot of people think it's a Starcraft MMO, though that's still just a rumor. It had better fucking be SC2.

Eh I guess but at least there's concrete evidence that it's coming from the official website instead of just rumored.
I really hope it's not a new MMO. Why would Blizzard want to compete with themselves? Unless they make it drastically different or something.

If there must be a Starcraft MMO, Blizzard would do well to make an RTS as well. WOW spun directly out of WarCraft III (effectively ending the RTS series forever), and it seems reasonable for the same to be done with SC.
Diablo sucks. Koreans suck. Starcraft is Godly.
Even if they did make it drastically different this would make no sense to do, your better off just evolving World of Warcraft at this point into Starcraft than you would ever be releasing a seperate game.Quote:

So Tain pointed this out but: Apparently Blizzard has had the domain starcraft2 for quite some time, and just recently made it active. It use to show an exact mirror of Blizzard's site. So you'd see the timeline thing while the url would remain www.starcraft2.com
Now they have it redirect you to blizzard's site instead, Seems like that URL wasn't supposed to viewable yet ;).

Custom StarCraft League Functionality Now Available
We have added new functionality to Battle.net that allows players to organize and join custom StarCraft leagues. These leagues support stat-tracking, custom icons, and replay uploading, among other features. Check out our StarCraft League page for more information on how to join a league or start your own.
They've done it for every release post Starcraft 2 since they got the URL. As much as I'd love it to be Starcraft 2, I'm not going to use that as a reason to get my hopes up.

Well, IGN says the event has started, but apparently Blizzard is going to draw it out abit, as the event is like 2 hours long.

2:08 PM - Another horrible song starting. Large video banks behind announcement stage are displaying Blizzard's WWI logo. People with video cameras are running around everywhere. Gah, this music is bad, awful jazz sax.
2:06 PM - Guitar riffs still aggravatingly cheesy. Crowds continuing to fill seating. Ceremony has yet to start.
Update 2:02 PM - Announced presentation will begin shortly. Really cheesy guitar riffs playing over the speakers. The staduim seating is filling up, must be several thousand in attendance so far.
Update 1:59 PM - Announcing itinerary for the rest of the event over the next two days.
2:26 - Still blabbing about why WWI is awesome.
