That one was developed by Eurocom, not Pandemic.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Mercenaries and all, but Pandemic hasn't quite convinced me they are a top tier production house yet. Battlefront 1 and 2 were both so so, Destroy all Humans was a humorous but a bit of a one trick pony.
Hopefully they can pull this off, but more importantly I hope they can put the polish and care that is needed into Mercenaries 2.
Battlefront and Mercenaries are more than enough for me to give Pandemic the benefit of the doubt.
Batman + Sandbox = Awesome
Crackdown has convinced me that a Batman Sandbox game is sorely needed.
I don't see how a game about a superpowered hero that can leap tall buildings etc would make you want a Batman sandbox. I don't disagree that its a cool idea though.
Because the main way most people get around in Crackdown is scaling buildings and then jumping from rooftop to rooftop? Replace the crazy high-jumping with a grappling hook, the guns with batarangs, and the car-throwing with "I know kung fu" and you've pretty much already got Batman: The Sandbox. Hell, it's even already got the fucking Batmobile (Agency Supercar level 5).
OMG, that totally needs to be a mod if they make a PC version of Crackdown.
Crackdown is mediocre. Unless Pandemic totally fucks up the potential of this game, it'll be leagues better.
