StarCraft 2

They're going to get nerfed HARD. They're not even that bad if you're prepared for them. But people would rather they get nerfed than learning how to deal.

Marines tear up VR's, so do cannons. The kerrigan player came at me with 6 VR's and I ate the alive with some cannons at my base.

It's one thing if all you know is one strat, but if you can adapt, you'll be fine.

Marines and Sieges are so good

I used to be one track with the VR's but playing with Channing and Fresh (ie good players) made me see how to really run shit.

I can't run good marines for shit against Zerg. Roaches eat me alive. Also, wtf at zerglings increased speed? How is it they nerfed Zealot speed boosts by not only pushing it farther back in the build tree but making it an energy-using upgrade but Zerglings seem even faster than before?

Exactly, I only play T but during the beta I found that marines were the way to go. Really marines just fucking rock.

Voids have been needing a good nerf since early on in the beta.

I haven't played in a bit, I really should get all up ins the shit chux does.

Last night was fun. We should do more 3v3 with channing or fresh, or... 4v4 with both, and we'll roflstomp fuckers.

Zealots would die horribly to marauders if they didn't have it work the way it did (a charge instead of a speed upgrade).

I don't run marines/marauds against zerg, i know its possible, but to beat banelings you have to be ON POINT, to use them you have to be ok. Just not at that level.

I like rolling out with a bunch of stalkers, and into mid-late game I bust out with the colossi. But early zealot rushing is GG usually.

They added so many wonderful things to the campaign. Optional objectives that you complete for upgrades, extra upgrade trees and research to boost your style of play and fav units, extra bridge locations and character dialogue... all of it is excellent.

It's becoming more obvious that Blizzard is not free of Kotick taint anymore.

Seems like a bitch move considering his very unfinished mod can only be played on battle.net anyway. Maybe their 'new IP' MMO really is World of Starcraft. Would make sense as an MMOFPS

I think there's nothing wrong with Blizzard doing that. The guy is a fan boy. "Don't worry duders it'll be totally awesome" doesn't cut it.

What part of him modifying a game using the tools the game company gave him to do so, to create a mod that can only be played on their network, warrants action of any kind?

Has anyone been watching any of the tournaments that has spawned for this game? GSL, NASL, IPL, and even the MLG. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash prizes (Both the GSL and NASL had a $100,000 grand prize)

I'll never be good enough at this game to complete at a tournament level. Some of the players are almost otherworldly in skill level.

StarCraft had the same following back before SC2 came out. It's really hard to be a top tournament player in this game but if you're that good you can make a simple living off of it. I tried getting good at SC2 but I am beyond shit. I stick to fighting games where I have a chance.

I like watching SC2 tourney streams/videos more than fighting game ones, even though I like the fighting games more. It's almost like watching a football game, strategic and paced.

I've watched a lot of GSL because it's on while I'm at work, and there's shit else to do. Caught bits of the others. NASL's finals were pretty epic.

The issue is, I don't like alot of the skills emphasized at high level. The strategic part is fun, but that's about it.

It also takes too long to get going for my tastes.

I've been playing this again. I don't win, but I have fun.

I think so as well. Will probably feel the same way about Diablo 3 vs. Diablo 2.

I'm fine with SC2. The first seemed much better, truly, but the successor looks prettier and holds on to what made the first so memorable. They work diligently to make sure nothing is overpowered.

I have a friend at work who I know plays and watches those tournament streams so I asked him what his rank was. I figured he must be a gold or something. Nope, he's a Master. l337 skills!

This game is way too intimidating to pick up and play btw.

You can have a great time with the single player campaign. I believe you can also set up matches against bots, to improve your skills.

Single player is hella fun, worth the price of admission on it's own. I'm also terrible online so I just avoid it.

This game is harder for me than Brood War.

I love how they remembered (after their fans pointed it out) that Raynor swore to kill Kerrigan before he suddenly killed his best friend to save her and fell in love with her. So they added a tiny bit of dialogue with her saying "Still want to kill me Jim?" and then he points a gun at her and then shoots fucking nothing instead like he's Keanu Reeves in Point Break. SUCH EMOTIONAL TURMOIL

I don't think this is true at all. Sometimes the plotting is kinda goofy and self-referential, but I wouldn't call any of it "bad" by any measure.

For 2? When you play the game (any mode) you are connected to battle.net It's always online. With your battle.net account you can register the cd keys for you blizzard games and then download the game(s) from them any time.

This flash vs bly is crazy. Looked like bly was going to get steam rolled but he just pulled off an incredible win in game 3. Terrans seem to have everything going for them.

I'm not sure. My brother in law got the game and I played it while watching his dogs today.

Blizzard forced me to log into his BN account to play the game. It lost connection halfway through but didn't make me sign back in.

That big digital future some of you are so happy about sure seems bright.

So you can't take your money out of Diablo III anymore, but you can spend it on Blizzard products. So I said fuck it and used the $60 I earned form Diablo III and bought both games bundled together for $60.

You can actually play the campaign offline, although you might have to log into battle.net to create an account the first time you play the game. The option will only appear if the battle.net servers are down or your computer is not connected to the internet. Achievements are disabled when offline.

I think the biggest problem with Blizzard is they seem to be a very big company with only a very small few having creative control. So with all their games you can see those people's influence, especially Chris Metzen, so we have seen all his themes and plot devices a million times; it's not that the writing is bad we've just been over exposed to it.
