Ok, so I need to get Vista up and running on my comp, but I'm feeling non-committal and I want to keep XP as my main OS, with Vista there for when I need to play a new DX10 game or whatever.
I haven't done a multiboot config since BeOS or some shit, so I really don't know what the best way to go about this is. Any pointers before I jump in? How exactly should I go about this?

No way to do it on one partition? They use the same file system. That's hella gay.
You will still be able to see the other drive from each OS b/c they use the same FS, is that not enough?

Is it really that much less compatible? I ask because I really don't know. I haven't run XP full time since 2002, and many of the DOS games I tried to play in it in my experiences since then have needed DOSBox or something else to help out. The Touhou games, WoW and Granado Espada have run just fine so far, so there's no complaints out of me yet, but I also didn't demand a lot from it. I don't know, so far I really like Vista a lot better than XP, but I seem to be in the minority here.Quote:

Why don't you just make a new partition? You don't need to erase your HD to do that. I've re-partitioned several harddrives with Partition Magic, and it hasn't once given me any trouble.
