Yep. This has probably been covered in whatever radio threads have been around, but man, was I surprised... O.o
FreeFM's site was changed to a 5 hour countdown at noon. Then, this. Yay?

huh.
I never even noticed krock was gone
Does this affect O&A in the morning, or are they doing it like it was in Stern's heyday?
Either way, sucks to lose Ron and Fez in the evenings.
What are you people talking about and should I care?
Too bad rock music didn't get any better.
Oh shi..zzzz
Judging by the amount of posts in the OnA on XM and Howard on Sirius threads, this news doesn't need to be believed.
92.3 has always had a morning show, so I don't see why O and A would be taken off. CBS isn't mad at them. I missed krock to be honest.
Krock is what I'd listen to when 104.3 and 105.5 were both playing shit. Then if K-rock let me down I'd try 101.1, and if that failed...oh well.
Free FM crashed and burned. Big suprise.
DiPaolo really stepped up to the plate, I personally thought it was one of the best shows on the station, even better than O&A, but Ron and Fez were definitely the best thing they had on freefm. While I agree that radio chick isn't great, I still found it far more tolerable than JV and Elvis or what ever crappy guy they had filling in the overnight spot.
Considering it was a knee-jerk reaction to an percieved oncoming assault from satellite radio that never actually happened (both services are not selling as well as planned), it's not really a big suprise.
CBS radio suits: "You see, it's FREE - unlike evil satellite where you PAY. What's that? People are just downloading shit for FREE on their MP3 players and satellite radio is kinda bombing?. Damnit. KROCK it is!!!"
I'll say it again - I spun slacker.com all day at work today and only skipped like 3 songs. I hope the portable player actually comes to market, cause I'll buy it in a heartbeat. It'll be Slacker for music and XM for mostly live talk content, assuming Opie and Anthony make a triumphant, non-gagged return.
The guy did nothing but whine. It wasn't worth it.
Honestly, he sounded like my dad if he had a sense of humor.
