Seems like everyone is taking steps to new touch surface type interfaces and computing. Here is Microsoft's entry to it. Very neat and also nice site too.

I love this stuff. I wanted to post this in the gaming forum so more than 3 people would see it.
I've seen similar tech demos in the past, but the Zune/credit card/camera interface is new. Looks pretty far along, too.
When they announce more details about the NYC thing next month, I might make plans to go, if only for an excuse to get down to NYC for a weekend. :p
It's amazingly cool stuff. I immediately wanted to play with it the second I saw it. Multi-touch looked cool in the iPhone demos (despite being on a device I care nothing about), but this blows it out of the water. I want Minority Report computers, now.
The Possibilities video is really amazing. I can't wait for this stuff to happen.
I have to admit that this is damn impressive.
theres a BIG difference between a phone and a table. In terms of gesture based theyre really similar, only one has a larger surface.
anyway, looks very interesting. Im wondering how theyll get phones and cameras to work off the table surface. It would have to read through the tables light im guessing so theyll be something like RF recepters on the back ends of our products now?
I was just saying, it's pretty awesome to see that sort of technology applied on something a bit more interesting than a phone. Well, to me, anyway. I'm kind of irked by the decisions Apple has been making as of late, as everything has taken a backseat to their consumer electronics bullshit. I'd say another 10.5 delay would drive me away for good, but it might be too late anyway! This MacBook Pro sucks ass. At least they're getting sued over the grainy screen shit. They should be forced to replace every last one of them.
So, um, yeah... :chick:
The "how" part of this definitely confuses me, but I imagine a lot of interesting articles will be surfacing soonish.
Huh? The table will just use normal bluetooth wireless to connect to devices. It doesn't need to be through the table directly.
