In 1991 the low rated cartoon series Video Power, which featured characters from various Acclaim NES games (NARC, Wizards & Warriors, Arch Rivals & Kwirk, was transformed into a game show where kids would compete in NES games and trivia for a chance to run through "the mall" where they could keep all the games they could hold onto. It was hosted by a guy that went by Johnny Arcade and was clearly on coke the entire time.
I remember watching this every chance I could as a kid. It was syndicated and only aired on a channel that barley came in with some creative rabbit ear placement. Someone put 6 episodes up on youtube recently. Here's a playlist with all six episodes. And here's a weekend episode with a special bonus prize in the mall. The kid who wins watched way too much of The Wizard and looked up to Lucas a bit too much.

I remember one episode when that tool host Johnny Arcade asked one of the contestants the following, "What is the villian's name in Mega Man..Dr...????" and the kid said "Dr. Wily!" then that dork host said "Wrong..its Dr. Light!". That was a terrible show.

That show was like, my ultimate fantasy as a youngster.
Plus it had Kwirk the Chilled Tomato.

LOL he said Alucard is Dracula's dad in part one.
The host seriously needed to lay off the coke a bit.

I remember watching this too, it was on channel 38 or something that was really hard to get unless the rabbit ears were just right. So rad.....

I didn't watch the clips -- this is the one where the final was sticking games to a suit covered with velcro right? Loved it as a kid.
