am i the only one who felt that GTA3 felt exactly like it's predecessors, but just in 3d?
... i mean... i'm playing it on my PC right now... and it's good... but it feels and plays exactly like GTA1 & 2... i'm seeing no difference, other than being more cinematic, and obviously 3D
... maybe i just have to get farther in the game, but as of right now, i'm not seeing why it's getting so much praise...

The getaway is much differrent than GTA3. If you ask me, its GTA3 done right. MGS style controls, detailed graphics, accurately portrayed city landscapes. too bad sony is going to lose millions cause of the cost of development
I have yet to play GTA3, so I'm going to rent it one of these. Although, I'm affraid that the series might become another Tomb Raider, especially now that DMA Designs sold out to Rockstar Games.
Never played GTA3, never will. The whole damn concept just sounds stupid. You want free roaming, go anywhere, do anything gameplay? Play Morrowind.
EDIT: Plus that, the game looks like complete ass.
Man, I feel sorry for people that don't like GTA3 or refuse to try it.
Anyways, I hope the use large cities and open-ended gameplay catches on with developers, not just the crime theme.
As evidenced by GTA, Way of the Samurai and other games, emergent game design is emerging on the console scene and I love it.
I've tried and enjoyed GTA3, I just think its probably the most overated game in the entire world.Quote:

My only major problem with GTA3 is that I think it doesn't start off great. I didn't start truly loving it until a few hours into it.
What do you think improves about the game besides how the more parts of the city opens up? To be honest, I've only played missions in the first few hours, although I've seen people do more advanced missions, and I even saw the last mission and the ending.Quote:

The lack of weapons hurts the beginning of the game, I think. I'm sure adjusting to game's controls was part of the reason too.
