Hey guys!
I recently just started ripping all of my CDs to stick on my spiffy new iPod, but I'm running into a problem when doing so with iTunes 7.2. No matter what sound format I rip the CDs as (MP3, AAC, etc) the first track of each CD will contain one blank second, all at the 5 second mark. 1-4, fine. 5-6, nothing. 6-onward, it's fine again. I'm ripping everything at 192kbps, if that matters at all.
This doesn't happen when ripping CDs with Windows Media Player. Any suggestions?

not quite sure but i know there is an option to enable and disable blank sound between tracks (mostly for live show cd's). i know it's not the problem you're having but it could be somewhat related? i don't use Itunes myself anymore but remembered there was a setting like that.

I think I'll try reinstalling iTunes. If that doesn't work, could I rip my CDs with Windows Media Player in the MP3 format and then just use iTunes to organize and load them to my iPod?
i dont see why not. just make sure you tell WMP the bitrate you want. also do you NEED to still use Itunes to get music to the IPod? haven't they made it so you can just drag and drop?Quote:

i know WMP (at least versions 10 and 11) have a tagging ability and they also get album art if you tell it to. so the two apps are pretty much identical now. about the only reason i would use ITunes anymore would be for the syncing to the Ipod itself (but then again i never would transfer my entire library anyway).Quote:

why not just use winamp to manage your ipod?
winamp should also be able to rip cds
