I would at least like to Spider-Man in the next Avengers. His personality and powers are a good compliment to the team. The rest of them would be superhero overload without an obvious benefit. The Marvel Studios universe doesn't currently support the "superbeings everywhere" status quo of the comics, but if it gradually does then I guess they will be set up for a Civil War-style plot/subplot in the third movie, which seems like the obvious direction they'd go.
The problem with everyone wanting all this is you have to think about budget and also time constraints.... you'd have to pay all these actors who then will complain about not enough screen time. Avengers worked because they had all the other movies leading up to it... and if the team was any bigger it wouldn't have worked, and this is a small team for the Avengers. If we start throwing in more non-Avengers characters how will anything get fleshed out? They don't have the luxury of having 6 months of comics to tell the story, they have 2 hours.

We have had a good avengers movie. The likelihood of them striking paydirt twice is very, very low.
Next movie needs to be The Defenders or The Champions. Or even better, a true to the period Invaders.
If they let Whedon do the next one as well I expect it to be good.
If not I have little hope.

Well the next three films are Iron Man 3, Captain America 2, and Thor 2. The rumored Guardians Of the Galaxy is also in the works.
Which version? Cheesy busiek era, cheesier nicieza era, dark/xtreme Ellis era, or current parker era?
