They're most definitely large shareholders in major oil companies as well as recipients of large "campaign contribution" funds to ensure their wealth.

The real answer to all this... build more refineries. Force them to spend some of the money they've made (which will be a drop in the bucket after the billions of dollars they make) to build more refineries and help increase the supply of consumable gasoline and help prevent high oil prices which will affect the economy greatly. We're all slaves to oil in some way shape or form.

its $3.61 for premium right now on the corner gas station, i am suprised it isnt more.

21/25mpg could be better, although through my own calculations its more around 17 mpg. Damn my car.

My car; built in 1997, gets 42-44 mpg, the previous vehicle I owned got over 46 mpg and it was built in 1994. You can try to judge me or belittle me because my car isn't very cool, but I'm not the fool bitching about filling up my gas tank.
