One Christmas my parents got me some gobots instead of transformers for Christmas and I was annoyed, but it was the large Leader 1 and Cykill, which ended up being pretty awesome.

In hind sight, the gobots werent that bad. And it wasnt like by the end of the line the small tfs were any less bricky. The stunticons and technobots werent much better than gobots.
tfs just seemed better because it had more fantastic ideas for little kids to get into. Like a rocket pad and tank that turned into a giant walking robot. Or a dragon shuttle. Or a godzilla that turned into an assault base.
I feel bad for kids now. We had some crazy fun shit to use for playtime fuel. What do they have now? Phenius and furb? Pokemans? Monsters in high school?

I agree, the Gobots got a bad rap, but some of there were actually pretty good. Crasher, Dive-Dive, Leader-One, and Puzzler were all decent designs. So much that they have gotten homages in the recent Transformer lines.Quote:

Puzzler was ahead of his time. You could move his limbs and the damn thing not fall apart and the gestalt parts staid with the bots, so you didn't lose them in the yard / basement /mom's garbage
I liked Cop-Tur. I loved that his propeller became his weapon in his robot form.
