I've never opened mine, I should probably just unload it.
"Thermal Vision" Dutch is out, and honestly, it's a let-down in person. It's a translucent green figure with splotches of paint sloppily applied, and what's worse is that there isn't even any paint on the back of the figure...its just plain green. The heat vision "effect" is only on the front. It just doesn't look good.
However, while I gave Dutch a pass, I did pick up this new 70's-style Alien figure. This thing is a fucking riot...there's actually a whole set of figures of characters from the movie (Ripley, Ash, Dallas, and Spacesuit Kane) from a proposed toy line that was developed in the 70's but never made it to retail. This company either found the original molds or made new ones based on the originals and produced new versions of them.
I was tempted to buy the whole set, but I blew enough dough on Christmas, so I settled on just the Alien. It has a working inner jaw and even a glow-in-then-dark brain! :)
That thing is pretty sweet.
Here's a review of the entire line. Sadly, the Ash figure doesn't come with a rolled-up porno magazine accessory, but otherwise they all look awesome.
I'd like to have my very own glow in the dark Brian.
Reminds me of the typo on the old Escape From NY vhs boxes: Harry Dean Stanton as Brian
Brian, brain, whatever the fuck.
I think I need the Spacesuit Kane figure as well, but the store by me is only selling the set (with a few loose Aliens as well). But they're on Ebay for reasonable prices, so fuck it. I might get one.
