A bunch of nerds were waiting outside Best Buy, so I assumed there was a new amiibo or something. I joined them to hear Star Wars discussion. Grown men debating the validity of the prequels and lining up to buy a soccer ball robot.
Fuck, I'm all in for the soccer ball robot. If they were selling him at Target with the $25 off $100, I'd already be there.
A handful of nerds went home unhappy. Best Buy only had 4 soccer balls for sale.
That's why I don't stand in line like an idiot.
edit: Of course they're all over ebay, courtesy of the scalper assholes.
From the way the nerds were interacting, It seemed like maybe a 50/50 split between people that wanted it to nerd and people that wanted it to resell.
Why stand in line to get one, I swung by Target to check out the event for shits and giggles, then went home and ordered a bb-8 for 149.99 with no tax and free shipping directly from Sphero's web site. Easy.
One thing I got out of this event was Mirco Machines??? Seems like forever since I've seen that brand (the quality looked like a huge drop too).
I hear Brookstone has stacks and stacks of BB-8, nobody thinks to look there.
Will the eventual backlash be BB-H8?
Ban please.
